Steven Wilson is a master when it comes to mixing. He was 10+ years ahead with audio quality. It's hard to explain. Everything is so crisp and clear. You can hear every instrument and it sounds like his voice is right in front of you.

Thanks for sticking with PT. They are one of the best bands in history. Steven Wilson is a freak about the video aspect of his concerts. They always hired killer videographers to record Porcupine Tree's live concerts. He and the drummer, Gavin Harrison, are also freaks about 5.1 surround sound. My point is that you should use the live versions whenever possible with PT of SW's solo band. I have a killer live playlist on my little channel which you are welcome to peruse. It's called Epic Prog Rock Live. Thanks for the thoughtful analysis. You obviously understand music to a deep level for such a young man.

PT/Steve Wilson music is more about the head than the heart and it touches on subjects that are not exactly cheery. A whole album on a woman found dead in her London flat(Hand cannot erase) is not to everyone's taste but who the hell else is tackling subjects like that! Being on the darker side of the progressive rock spectrum has disadvantages i guess but the music produced is magnificent.

Hey Drew! If you’d like another Prog-Metal band that’s been around since the early-mid 1980’s, you gotta check out the band, Fates Warning. Here’s a few just off the top of my head: 1. From The Rooftops; 2. One; 3. A Pleasant Shade Of Gray part 4; 4. The Light And Shade Of Things; 5. Still Remains. Great vocals with awesome, complex time changes throughout all of their songs. I guess I’m looking at it from a different angle, the majority of my close friend(not metal/rock fans) would know bands like Slipknot etc - despite having 0 interest in the genre, yet they would have absolutely no idea who PT are. That’s more so what I’m referring to man.

Good for you man. PT are criminally overlooked and even though people might skip over it, some might get through that shows them some interest. Try Always Never or The Sky Moves Sideways next

Yeah I think its neat how Porcupine Tree and Opeth are tied together in a weird way. Good choice for a track. The fans have been giving Drew all of the insanely heavy ones to start with. Hope it didn't scare him off.

He wasn’t impressed with this song, which is a shame. If he liked growls it’d probably be a different story but...

You basically react to all my favorites bands, so I dont really mind what band is the next. I just wait for the video to see which journey you're on is continued.

Man, this is the song that made me fall in love with them! Just love the groove. Since you enjoy Porcupine Tree so much you should definitely check out Lips of Ashes. Its kinda dark, moody and slower than the songs you reacted to already, but I am sure you will love it.

Nice I love this song, and it's my birthday! Steven has an open invitation for fans or anyone to give him IPods so that he can destroy them. They compress music and take away the richness that true musicians always strive to achieve with a studio album. There's plenty of videos of him doing this its pretty funny.
