Maybe I’m wrong but maybe Drew is younger than most of us here so he doesn’t perceive this music in context of 2000 which is totally fine. Some songs just haven’t aged that well. I remember back then In The End wasn’t even that big of a deal let alone an S+ tier song haha. But “With You” was a song that made me pause and consider putting Linkin Park into my GOATs vynil drawer alongside SOAD and Alice In Chains.

@@disturbedone6330 Yes man! It´s also in my top 3 or at least in my top 5. In no particular order my top 5 are probably By Myelf, From the Inside, In Pieces, Until its gone and A line in the sand. But honestly there are just too many great songs, its so hard to rank and honestly my ranking could be slightly different every day. And agreed: With You is also an absolut banger and really underrated.

Who wrote My December was actualy Mike, all of them participate in the majority of the writing in the songs, but the one who writes the most is Mike, and "My December" was just Mike on the wrinting.

I definitely disagree with some of your rankings. But I think it's important to point out that it's understandable that someone listening to this album in its entirety for the first time 20+ years later is going to have a different ranking system when it comes to these songs, as opposed to someone such as myself that have heard every song on this album 1000 times. Something that I sort of take into account when I'm trying to rank these songs, and maybe I shouldn't let it affect me, but I tend to dock points from some of the big hit singles on the album such as One Step Closer, Crawling, and In The End because I have heard these songs so much more than the others, and the fact that they get so much love from so many people that it forces me to go against the grain and think more highly of some of the deeper cut tracks that don't get as much attention. I think my opinion of which songs I like the most on this album has changed over the years. If I had to say which songs are my favorite off this album today, it would be By Myself, With You, and Place For My Head. But I probably didn't feel that way 15-20 years ago.

I think actions speak louder than words and history has shown that people do the opposite of what they say and musicians should stop wasting their time looking at twitters oppinion. Emily should quit answering to the allegations, put her money where her mouth is and prove to music enthusiasts that she has what it takes. If she does that, people will buy the tickets.

Agree to disagree getting called out on this one. The only thing I’ll agree with is that you can make a guitar or drums sound the same to someone else’s. It’s much harder to do that with your voice compared to someone else’s voice, especially when music is involved.

This album fucking rocks but In The End is one of my most hated songs ever. That song was played so much when this album came out, and for years afterwards, that I physically cringe when I hear it these days. Such a trash song.

Objectively is a well-written song with twists, hooks, and a lack of linearity. It's not a trash song, because your subjective judgment is beyond the song itself. I personally don't like Numb for the same reason but I can get why it is loved so much.
