Meridia's flaw isn't just about style over substance, but also an obsession with purity. She laments the inconstancy of her mortal followers, and seeks to purge any corruption anywhere at all. Those mortals who serve her will inevitably discover that anything spawned by the Gray Maybe are far too checkered for her liking, and when she is finished dealing with greater evils, she will turn on the lesser ones, including those she sees within her allies who fall short of her ever-narrowing standards.

I have never believed that the Shivering Isles is a realm one travels to but rather a place that visits you as you descend deeper and deeper into madness. The mind of one who makes the journey is encapsulated by the Isles, which is why it’s shaped like a brain, it’s your own mind, then the journey to new Sheo is as easy as a stroll into your own deranged thoughts. Why Uncle Sheo says he is a part of you is because his realm occupies the boundaries of the minds he has ensnared.

It’s a bummer how incomplete Moras realm felt in Skyrim. The Shivering Isles was so fleshed out, Dragonborn was like 1 step above call of duty in its linear style.
@LucaDavoli_10 ай бұрын
Makes sense when the Shivering Isles also serves as the main world to play in, whereas in Dragonborn it's Solstheim, not Apocrypha. Would've been cool, sure, but double the work. I also think being vague and mysterious fits the realm perfectly. Being able to explore a fleshed out Apocrypha would've likely diminished that mystery factor.
@MaxPower32110 ай бұрын
@@LucaDavoli_ good point, somehow I never factored Solstheim being apart of the DLC until you said that. It get smaller than Morrowind and maybe that’s because you’d die easily but Skyrims was way more fleshed out in my opinion.

Amazing Video!!! Maybe a weird request: could you maybe do a Video about resurrection in the Elder Scrolls? Because it feels like something that works in TES, but seamingly isn't a part of it. Most prominently, Alduin brings the dead Dragons back to live, and while I previously thought, that it makes sense, since TES Dragons are beings outside of time, I recently watched a Video on the shout He uses, that apparently just turns time back, so it _could_ work on other species (provided you have a perfect understanding of time and death, like Alduin has)? Some of the daedra, especially Molag Bal, seem to love bringing people back, either as living or undead. Individuals like Wulfharth and the Nerevarine apparently were brought back several times. In early Lore, priests in temples could apparently resurrect dead people, and it seems there is at least one case in the current Lore, where a priest resurrected a dead Boy. And hagravens can apparently also resurrect the reachfolk, though I read somewhere, that their resurrection spell is an instant version of the briarheart ritual? And then I recently found the Song "Pray to the Hunter", where in its music video, it seems like the man is resurrected at the end. And from what little I was able to find, it seems like the Song is canon?

The Hill of Suicides isn't just punishment, i don't think, it's also Sheogorath's twisted mercy: his manic side may well truly believe he is happy, that in his dual madness he has overcome depression, sadness and defeatism and that those held upon the Hill are granted the same blessing he recieved to fully give themselves into depression and commit the ultimate madness of ending their own lives, but keep existing in this mad realm Of course his demented side holds there those who shun his gift of depression and would instead take their lifes than live with it, a grudge which the Mad God cannot let go Or maybe i'm completely wrong, and Sheogorath simply does as he does for reasons to which only himself is privy, or no reason at all

I'm confused by an aspect of the creation myth set in the Elder Scrolls. It is said that in the beginning, both Aedra & Daedra were of equal strength & power, but Lorkan tricked half of the original spirits into pouring a portion of their divine energies into making Mundas, & those that partook became the Aedra & the gods of Mundas, but those that refused became the Daedric princes. However, it is always said that the Aedra, Kyne, Stendar, Akotosh, etc., they are stronger & more powerful than the Daedric princes, Maphala, Molag Bal, Hermamora, etc. My confusion is, if the Daedra didn't pour their divine energy into Mundas, shouldn't they be stronger, & not the Aedra?

*A note of concern, and perhaps even importance:* Upon revisit of the mythology of the Redguard, a concerning sentiment is raised. That of the Worldskins. The Altmer claim that all were once spirits, or that we were closer to them, however we know the corruption of myth that has come with political aim and religious dogma. The Alessian Empire, and the faith of the 8, turned 9, turned 8 serves the same basis as the beliefs in Summerset, with the addition of some and removal of others. Their stories line up. Yet, those stories have faults, inconsistency and self aggrandizing, as we see in the Khajiit stories. Yet all things hold a kernel of truth. The Yokuda Myth, then, states that, in line with the Elven tale of things, men used to walk alongside Gods, until Lorkhan, named Set to the Yokudans, tricked the gods into making Mundus, which traps them there. The story is the same, though the issue arises with the telling. Sep, Lorkhan, balled the old Worldskins together, and together the world was made too rigid, too unflexing, perhaps even more immortal. When one thinks of the world skins as previous kalpas this helps to explain the myth that Nirn was stitched together of many worlds, they are the old Worldskins, the prior kalpas. Perhaps this even explains the argonian issue, in that the hist and it's children were present in this realm from the very beginning. They come from prior world skin. Could this, then, explain why things are happening differently this time around, that we exist not on a world skin, but on a amalgam of those that came before, that some stories which do not align were told before, on a prior world skin. Perhaps this, then, explains why Magnus fled? If this world was truly different than the others, then perhaps it could explain why the star orphans and the great architect departed? This world, this place, this ball of skins, a stitching together of ancient stories, could demonstrate exactly how and why everything seems so different? Why Alduin could not consume the world, why Lorkhan's treachery Is a betrayal rightly punished, perhaps even why He continues to return, the eternal prisoner, he who sees both the bars and the door, Sep-Shor-Shezzar-Lorkhan, as the player character. This is not merely a Kapla, It is an amassment of all that came before, bound in one last world. It is not another, it is the final. Maybe this incarnation of the world, due to its creation, is inherently different than all that came before, as it is creation made in combination of all that had come before.

From my perspective both sides are not gods like you said, one is more demonic, and the other one more of a falling angel than a guy they all have limits. None of them are absolute in both in wisdom and power, so can you call any of them God it takes a whole bunch of them to create by themselves, they could corrupt they are celestial creature, but not gods. The closest thing to God in the elders universe is the dread father Lord sithis

It's time stop using non cannon sources even if the source wrote for ES at one time and his works continue to be in the game. There are many other contributors to the lore, he isn't the creator he just left a big mark. And even in that mark, other's had a say, it's not fair to give him sole credit and to subordinate the whole of ES to his fan fiction.
