Luxeria, another KZbinr, has also reacted to shows such as Bridalplasty and a plastic surgery pagent competition called "the Swan". She has some very insightful takes as someone who both had plastic surgery, and is cautious of plastic surgery. She's talked to contestants and generally does a very good job at respectfully yet humorously covering topics. If you're going to make videos about plastic surgery reality TV, Luxeria might be someone you'd enjoy collabing with.

If there is something about your body that doesn’t make you feel like yourself and you’re in the position to change it with plastic surgery, goooo for it. As long as your mental space is healthy, plastic surgery should not be villianized. I’m 5 feet tall and I’ve been 150 pounds and 102 pounds. At all weights, I carried fat in my double chin area. It’s hereditary. I got submental liposuction and it created a jawline I am SO pleased with. I would do it 10 times over. Just not 4 months before my wedding on a competition show lol.

For anyone interested in seeing more of the insanity that is Bridalplasty, I highly recommend checking out Luxeria's series reacting to it. She's fantastic and as someone who's had elective plastic surgery, fillers, etc she brought experience to the topic as well as just a ton of hilarity while also addressing all of the super problematic shit.. I'm horrified thinking of how I used to watch these shows (Swan, bridal plasty, extreme makeover etc) when I was an insecure young teen. How many young minds got influenced by this.. Shows like these made me feel like normal looking pretty women needed "fixing". I'm greatful im now more aware at 30 and that I was broke when I was younger so I never got any type of procedure done. If I'd have been rich at 18, I'd have ruined my whole face and body by now and regretted it forever

I mean, I don't think these surgeries are performed on small children, I think the issue here is very obvious, that we don't have variety in media for representations of different types of beauty overall... If everyone gets big tits and big butts and gets a monthly fat reduction surgery, we'll all look the same, so what exactly is going ot make a person look like themselves? We need to learn as a society how to appreciate and value different types of beauty...

At 40 I sought consultation for the wrinkle that was forming under my left mouth corner. We agreed on ha injection, the doctor approached me, I closed my eyes and he hit me ( it’s the only word that fits this context) under my right eye. You don’t want to know how i felt. Anyways, I reacted strongly, he began to explain his actions claiming I had deep hollo area under my eyes ( it wasn’t true in my view), but he carried on and convinced me I was going to be happy when I see the results after he’d do the same to the right area. The result was dramatic. Likely due to fear he injected HA just under the skin surface ( don’t know the professional medical terms), and since then I’ve had “pillows”under my eyes. It hasn’t migrated anywhere. Feels like it’s trapped. What’s ‘interesting’ is that when I’m overheated it expands. I’d like to have it resolved but I’m afraid it may cause some irreversible changes if done incorrectly. My advice: never close your eyes when in similar situations to that I’ve described .
