My biggest takeaway is communication is a core deeper connection with others, soul to soul, authentic self and not just a dialogue.

I really had that situation of unrelevant feedback after a job interview, also unsuccessful dates where on the surface everything was ok (the dialogue) so this video confirms my thoughts about the reason being me not totally congruent. Thanks a lot!

I recently came across your channel and I love it! Being retired US military whom is on the path to executive management out here in corporate America, your videos have proved invaluable. Some of the content I have heard before but the way you state things and explain things is unique and really drives points home. Thank you for doing these, stay blessed Dr!

Mindset. It never occurred to me. That a person's mindset can affect the words they speak. Thank you

One building block of Mindset is Belief system, small things you have been told again and again since you were a child. Things like "you are not as clever as him/her", "you never does well at this or that", etc. Sort these small things to build a healthy mindset.

This is so true, I feel my best when I feel confident and that means my mindset believes that I can, I can bring my self and the dialogue projects a natural flow.

My takeaway which is the biggest one was to have a constant approach that's more in line with a positive belief system and that aligns with social aspects at the receiving end.

Thank you very much, Dr. Grace. I have been looking for answers how I shift from being shy to being courageous especially in public speaking. For me, when I allow myself to be vulnerable, at the same time I develop the right mindset, and then I am able to have that dialogue thru writing and deliver a speech despite the fear. In the past, I could not talk about my story especially about my childhood.

Thank you so much for this wonderful video. My greatest takeaway is that to be an effective communicator is not just uttering the words correctly but how to work with the proper mindset and the essence of being vulnerable.

My mindset is to help everyone I can to meet goals that I am seeking to be met within set time periods. Patience starts to be my challenge here. My attitude seems to fluctuate, we are humans so we do vent outside of workplaces, but I do say indirect frustrations to high performing employees vs the ones I'm venting about so I do need to ease on that and effectively improve professionalism in that aspect. I know scripting is also my real problem but it sure feels comfortable writing things out haha. There's definitely more I think I need to write but should feel the need to voice out to really prove I'm ready to use my Bachelors in Business Administration degree I've been holding since 2017 :(

Also did not mean to make the last sentence a humble brag, but the nature of this video, it's more like a desperate cry for help. Because I hate that I gave up on looking for something directly related to my major and worked for Whole Foods as an in-store shopper then promoted to Trainer (great mission of a company, but I cannot see myself moving up all the way to my potential).

My biggest take away. I'm not a good communicator and have a poor angry mindset at work. I still lead and mentor others. I come up with good ideas. I try to impress my supervisors. My team leader is 18 she doesn't have the experience work ethic or know how. She constantly talks to me as if I were her boss. Thing is she's a good communicator!!

The biggest aha - the quality of the actual text you are going to say is only #3 priority. A lot of times during my career I was noticing that being relaxed, true yourself during the conversation gives unexpectedly good results, compared to the case when your are much more prepared but not in a good shape mentally. But the “aha” is that I wasn’t able to explain to myself so clearly as you did in this video how and why one case differs from another.

I work in electronics, in this field before any device can transmit information to another it needs to connect with it. Same goes for people, if you don't connect with them at an emotional level you won't be as effective transmiting your mesage.

I have watched a few of your videos on your channel and noticed in several places you've spoken about being authentic and vulnerable at work, to know yourself, your values, and to communicate from that foundation consistently. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions on what to do when senior leaders have values that are in direct opposition to your own. How can you communicate effectively in those situations? Is it better to concede and accept the values of the more senior people in order to "fit in" (aka: demonstrate you are a good culture fit), or is it better to attempt to communicate your values regardless and hope the more senior people will respect that? Secondly, do you have any tips or suggestions on how to communicate with senior people who are not, themselves, congruent. When you find people who speak very clearly and offer direction or statements, but then directly contradict themselves either with other statements or, even worse, in non verbal ways by their actions, what do you do? Put another way, you mentioned how communications revolve around principles and values - what do you do when the people you are communicating with present themselves as having completely opposing values?

Executives are looking for people who are willing to tell them the truth even if it conflicts with their own thoughts. They dont need a cheerleader who backs whatever they think. They need someone to bounce their ideas off of. My supervisor shares things with me and asks my opinion. Im just a frontline worker but he knows I will tell him the truth. It doesnt mean he will implement my opinion but he does use me as a sounding board before making decisions and that means the world to me. Hopefully one day it will pay off.
