Great stuff! I’m also impressed on the minimal video jump cut/editing. It really shows how skilled you are! 🎉

The cultural tip was very interesting! I had heard about the Japanese that when they want to speak or ask a question, their eyes start to glow brighter!

Very essential skill in a world where truth is considered false and false is considered truth.

This is really important at executive level communication can feel like a minefield. You're always careful what you say, how you say it and what not to say. People are super sensitive and can easily get the wrong message.

It’s not about being super sensitive. It’s about gate keeping and guarding against informality, lack of civility, rudeness. Executive people are the guards of political corporate culture and if they let up, people would get away with egregious behavior that they get away with in their personal lives

Excellent. How do you handle a person who'd start with 'DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO' when you already used the curiosity tool over a person who does the job against a standard ( guidance of a specific medical organisation or policy). We work in a hospital setting and when it comes to your truth and my truth it's narrowed as we specific standard is outlined by organisational body.

Any tips on how to communicate with a bully / person who values controlling others?
@JustGrowSG

In my experience, I've always used empathy. I place myself in their shoes and allow them full reign to be as vulnerable as possible. When they say "nobody has ever taken the time to listen to me" or "you're not like everyone else", then you'll start to see exactly what's causing this person to be that way. No matter how long it took, I always allowed that person to be vulnerable with me in order for me to better understand them so that I know how to speak to them in hopes to help them shift the way they think or even feel. Overall, you have to have a desire to help that person. For me, it was my way to not be bullied as a child because I was afraid and had no other way to combat the much bigger "bully."

Great tips. Thanks. Even though I've learned these tips over the years, it is still helpful to be reminded. One suggestion for all Dr. Grace's videos is to be more succinct. We are all very busy and hare short attention spans. And there is endless competition for this type of information. If the content can be expressed in 3 minutes, do it in 3 minutes, not 11 min. I found myself keep skipping to just get the 5 tips.

how to speak American English fluently?
@DrGraceLee
@DrGraceLee Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your question, Neneng. While my executive coaching program focuses on advanced communication skills for leaders, there are many resources available online and offline to help improve English fluency. I recommend checking out language learning apps, online courses, and practicing speaking with native speakers. Best of luck in your language learning journey!
