My heart goes out to this lady. My mom is nice but she's a huge guilt tripper. It affects my mental health. I can relate to everything. 😢

That's why I haven't moved far away from my mother. I know she will follow me. She is a constant guilt tripper. And I feel like I have no boundaries.

I had the same thing happen!! I moved far away as I could….then she followed me. She followed me to tell me how much she has sacrificed for me all my life. I owe her now. She played the perfect mother for about 5 years so that I wouldn’t fight her move. Then she flipped like a light switch when she got here.

I’m 40. My older brother wants to have his own life so he moved overseas. My mum doesn’t want to trouble him so she chose to live with me without my agreement. I don’t get to go out with friends, let alone dating without dramas from her. Gaslighting and guilt tripping occur daily and my opinions never matters. If I disagree on sth, she and my brother will stop talking to me. I no longer have a reason to be in the world, really.

I feel for this lady her mother sounds like my mother in law's twin. I am always trying to do what I can to help encourage my sister in law through it because she at this time is the back bone person in the situation. My sister in law and husband both try hard to keep me out of it as much as possible because they both know about the situation I've been in with my own mother being mentally . emotionally, and on rare occasions even physically abusive toward me, my sisters, and my father.. Sending Hugs and prayers.
