Dricus started all this, why did he have to say he was the only 'real' African champion. It isn't that he is a white person saying he is from Africa, the North Africans are indigenous Africans and they're pretty pale (at least some of them). And he is a white South African, there is no way he doesn't know about Apartheid, Apartheid was all encompassing in South Africa, and it ended in 1994! Being from a colonizer population (and that is what the white South Africans are, they're not indigenous, just like most white Americans aren't considered Native American), it allowed him to live as if he was in Europe, because the the median South African income for White South Africans is around $60,000. I don't understand why he had to say he was a 'real' African, and Ngannou, Usman, and Izzy weren't real Africans. It's honestly one of the ugliest things I've ever seen from a fighter. And Dricius has had this explained to him and he simply doesn't care. If it wasn't for this, I would be a massive fan of the guy, this is just slimy.

The king of MMA documentary's returns with one of his greatest videos. Dude I have watched every one of your fighter documentaries and you really found an angle of narrative that sheds so much illumination on Dricus. Amazing short film. Dricus has that same aura that GSP and Holloway have. Perfect self belief, and they respect their opponents, and they will not be bullied, and they will fight to the death for victory. I really like Dricus style, you know he's never ever going to have a boring fight, there will be no Adesanya vs Yoel Romero stare down. Dricus moves forward striking to decapitate his opponent at all times, and if he gets close enough he'll take you down and crush you from the top position, or submit you when you give your back. He's all out action, the kind of fighter I dreamed of GSP being, but GSP was way, way, way too cerebral to ever be that to the death warrior I wanted to see. The only hole in Dricus game is that he should be able to be countered over lunging later in the fight, by a guy like Israel, or Whittaker but he's so powerful no one is willing to take that chance to step into him when he rushes forward.

I just really appreciated how the two fighters were able to show each other a lot of respect after the fight was over.

Best mma doc channel. You always approach things from a complex respectful perspective. Adults are rare in the online media space, the incentives don't go that way.

Its great to see the respect between fighters. Its would be hard to find this camaraderie in any other sport because theres less on the line

I like Dricus, hes confident but not cocky, hes well spoken and shows respect to his opponents. While also trash talking that is just responding well to the opponents trash talking. He has that big brother energy "oh yeah you think you can beat me ok lets go little bro". Type of attitude. It reminds me of being the younger brother and thinking you can take your older brother. To then realise really quick you under estimated how much stronger/faster/stubborn they are. Even in his trash talk it is so.....respectful but confident. I think hell go far in the sport.

I never understood what people weren't seeing in Dricus. The only major thing I thought would hold him back, was cardio. As soon as I heard he got a nose surgery, I bet on him over Rob and expected him to fight for a title.

For me, after all the racial hate that adesanya directed towards dricus, it makes it really hard to buy into his after fight humbleness and respect. I think had he won the fight, the picture would have been very different.
