Zuffa had a different strategy. Under the fertitas the strategy is to make the UFC as a company the most attractive product they could. Pay the big bucks, get all the fighters, get sanctioned in all states, get drug testing, and keep everyone relatively content. Post sale UFC strategy is: we took out 4.5 billion dollar loans to buy this thing, time to milk it for everything its worth. Cut all costs, hire a bunch of fighters who will fight for a 10 and 10 contract, don't ever book any fighters who have contracts that are too expensive, and if you do just make them the headliner. Raise seat prices to the maximum, cut staff to a minimum, get big sponsors, big broadcast deals, and nobody gets any raises. The UFC is being gutted like a fish and any of those superstars we fell in love with in the early days wouldn't fight in the UFC at these wages
@CGoody5643 ай бұрын
Agree to disagree. The wages people are fighting for now are well beyond what fighters got paid in the past. Those early stars primarily made their money from outside sponsorships, not prize money. @@ohgeezrick2019 Your question is: Why does Ufc pay different than nba nfl etc? Business operates on contracts. Ufc honors their contracts. I assume nba nfl does the same. As a team sport u can warm the bench and get paid. In mma u have to fight to get paid. Which offers a service to ufc they can monetize. If u win u get paid for fight and again for a win. If the win didn’t have extra pay what would motivate a fighter to win, put on a good show, be Entertaining? Should we cancel the win pay and renegotiate every contract for you to have 1 pay? No incentive pay? Why don’t u compare ufc to boxing? Another individual sport.

It's amazing how many people still defend White's bullshit. He might have started as a fight fan, and he deserves some credit for making MMA what it is today, but he has 100% become the villain of the sport at this point.
@WhispersOfaSilhouette3 ай бұрын
He’s holding the UFC back from its true potential. Dana refusing to make a 165div is idiotic. That division would literally add another title fight and help with weight cutting since the most stacked weight classes are the smaller ones which in fighters miss weight.

Let's talk about social media for the UFC. Their youtube channel alone makes millions a year by itself. This company is massive, and what I don't understand is why people still watch like they use to. You would think it gets old as much as they throw at you. PPVs sells and gates are massive

It's really stood out to me since they abruptly changed the gloves. The UFC seems so disconnected, so out of touch now. Prices for these events have never been higher. Now they've been putting together the WEAKEST most depressing events. Yet they charge Absurd prices. They need to come out and let people know they are listening to us, there's been a million decisions and hardly any exciting fights lately.. They need to address this. They play a huge part in all of this obviously

You're not wrong. However, as long as they get billions of dollars from ESPN, sponsors, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and other state government, the UFC brass has no incentive to change, and I'm not talking about Dana here, but Ari Emmanuel.

Dana White is NOT an exemplary leader. He leads with fear, intimidation, bullying and who knows what other tricks he learned from dealing with the mafia on the East Coast. An example of a great leader is one who leads not by fear but by example, compassion, courage, and selflessness.

The problem is Dana has always oversold the level of competition implied by being on the UFC roster. It's not uncommon for literal taxi drivers and construction workers to make it in the UFC. To suggest they instantly deserve millions for winning some amateur fights and going on contender series and making Danas head turn red is just not realistic.

If you asked pretty much anyone if they would rather have a 100k or a 50/50 chance to either get 150k or 50k youd go with the 100k. its just not worth taken the chance. I know the win is guaranteed but you have a higher chance of winning taking your time rather then rushing in trying to get a knockout just to get knocked out. risking it for a 50k bonus just aint worth losing money for
