Wanted to let everyone know, the flamingo feather celosia if dried inside a dark paper bag completely in the dark it dries with an amazing dark fushia/hot pink color. I’ve found that so to many of the flowers I’ve dried this year, if completely dark while drying they keep some beautiful color.

Love the dried flowers! An idea for the future could be to hang PVC pipe, from the floor joists above, in your basement of the new shop. Use "S" hooks, that are used for hanging utensils or pots and pans, to hang your flowers while they dry. It's a very economical way to do it. Good luck!

You could use your shorter stems for dried bud vases. Throw about 5 or 6 of those Nigella pods in a bud vase and they are adorable.

Hi Christina, this year I grew a zinnia called Uproar Rose. Very large and full of petals, bigger than benary giants. I got the seeds from Mountainlily Farm in Arkansas. You might love them!

I love your idea of 'fresh-to-dried' bouquets! I may steal that idea from you, if you don't mind. I am in Atlantic Canada, so no competition here! 😉

Read “Designing with dried flowers” by Hannah Rose Rivers Muller. So helpful with dried flowers! Harvest, strip, bunch and hang.

For the celosia that are bent, I think they will come back to a 'straighter' look if you hang them upside down. They seem to still have some movement to them.

Astilbe is one of the flowers that does not have to be hung upside down. I just cut all the left over when they start to loose their colour, put them in bunches in pails and leave them alone til the fall, where I add them to fresh fall bouquets. An inexpensive way to hang dried flowers is by using a bent open paper clip that clips into the elastic on the flower end and hooks over string on the "rafter" end.

I keep more of the stem when they are partially dry and let them fully dry with the stem on. I put them in a paper bag and let them finish drying in my garage.

Have you tried the one, lunaria I think, some call it money plant, anyway they look better dried than fresh. Silvery coin type pods, takes two years tho. 😔👻🧟♀️
