If you want to catch a lot of dollies go to where the river goes into the ocean and fish at high tide. I used a Pixie Spoon a caught a zillion on them in the East Alsek river every weekend one summer. If my line got to the bottom then all I would catch were sculpin. If you try fishing the little streams that go into the main river you may catch a lot of rainbows.

Highly recommend taking a trip to the russian river when the reds are running. it’s a short hike up to the falls and you can watch the salmon jumping up the falls all day long! also almost guaranteed to see bears there last time I was there I was within 5 yards from 2 grizzlies coming up from the river. Also great fishing for rainbows there too!

The river the forests the fish populations everything has been degraded. None of these fish were big relatively speaking. I have spent many a day catching rainbows on the Kenai when it would be rare to hook anything smaller than 20 inches. Late 1960s and 70s. To many people put too much pressure and the changing climate is accelerating the decline.

Jon I hate to say it buddy but I definitely think that you need to give up the fishing for sure!! I mean what Lindsey with 4 and Sam with like 2 or three and Jon with how many?? I guess I missed all your catches buddy??? Maybe you suck at fishing and filming to get all your catches on film!! But I definitely no that Sam would have gotten on film if you did catch any!!! Lol!! Still an awesome day of fishing in your office for sure!!! How many others can say there office work is them out in the beautiful nature and on the water!!! It definitely has to be the best job ever getting to enjoy the outdoors for a job!!! Amen to that brother!! Remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!!!
