I am a huge VW fan . And I really like the Ghia . And while I wouldn't want to see a good Ghia being cut up for this project , seeing how destroyed this car is I'm glad to see it being used and kept from the junk yard .

Totally agree! There were lots more convertibles in my area and I never cared much for them. The first time I saw a coupe, everything changed. It will probably require a bit more cage work, but totally worthwhile imo. ❤

@ I mean the trunk would also have to be cut up, but from what I see they cut that out pretty much completely anyway. I literally just mean, cut it in half lengthwise and weld some metal in between. Would also solve the roof collision issue to some degree. Not the easiest thing to do, but if you can build a 60s car from scratch, you can extend a car no problem :D

I know Ryan said he wants the car to look like a Ghia, but I’d truly love if he flexed his body-work skills for custom wide body styling to turn this into a modern, restomod-ish Ghia drift missile. I think they’d make it look like an incredible machine.

Probably should have made a fiberglass mold of the body probably been a lot easier then when you moded it to fit use the mold to make a carbon fiber body!!!! Sorry just killed me watching that body get cut up. I'll be waiting for the next video good luck!!!!!!

I think splitting the back half down the middle and widening it would keep it more stock looking than adding fender flares. The stock flares look great

I'd prefer widening the (rear) body to adding flares to the very distinctive Ghia "hips".
