I think I get the joke, but my theory is split in two. 1. "Quickscoping." The joke is based around the fact that sniping and using the scope for a short period of time is ridiculous, so, you quickscope at short range, effectively making the snipers turn into a shotgun. Short range, one hit kill. 2. "Gameplay." The joke is based around either A. The gameplay used in this video removes the large scope, making it look like a shotgun more than a sniper. Or B. The whole bolt-action-recoil-you-cannot-switch-to-a-secondary-in-this-time thing.

There is a way to cancel the bolt-action.... Shoot - Don't 'Hardscope'! Reload - Not all the way! And don't do it too early either! Do it as soon as the clip comes out of the gun. Sprint - Not the entire map! Just the tiniest distance possible. Do this quickly, but remember to allow time for the clip to come out when you reload. You can do this with the KSG and the Remington. With the shotguns, you can do this glitch to cancel the 'time taking, painfully slow pump-action.' With the shotgun, as there is no reload, you can just do this REALLY fast. Like if this helps!

I was previously a dsr guy but since i started leveling up my ballista. I seem to have much more fun. It seems to be a more active gun, luke u said the zoom speed allows me to shoot and line up anither shot much faster. Im a rush sniper so i find myself in more medium to close range battles so quickscoping is what i end up doing the most of. Quickscoping is also more gratifying for me

But that's what variable zoom has always been good for (well that and variable range sniping). It allowed you to play on higher levels of senitivity so that you could monitor several areas on low zoom while not comprimising accuracy due to higher levels of zoom. Ballista has better hipfire than the DSR-50. After the most recent patch the Ballista idle sway with iron sights has been reduced to no idle sway therefore the iron sights are actually a good attachment for the Ballista. You may have noticed, but this gun has a strange resemblance to the M40A3 from Modern Warfare. In Modern Warfare almost everyone used the M40A3 with an acog which is why Drift0r may like the acog. An ideal set up for the Ballista is Ballistics CPU w/ Extended clip/Fast mag.

Aljaz Skarlovnik yes, skill is the most important thing, but a gun can still be bad. Executioner vs S12 As a primary, the S12 is objectively better. A skilled player can use the executioner to absolutely slaughter everybody, but it's role is as a secondary. Problem is, if you can quickscope, a sniper rifle is better than both of those at any range.

I usually use it as a simple rifle not a long range sniper even though it is good for that I just slap an acog on it and abuse it's one shot kill ability plus you can aim faster with a reflex/acog/iron sight than a traditional scope

I don't have a problem with snipers but the problem is that the game allows them to be used as one shot kill "assault rifles" in close combat situations. Because the game requires multiple shot kills for all weapons at close range except the sniper rifles it gives them the advantage in a situation where they shouldn't have the advantage. In the real world one shot from an AK-47 will kill you just as fast as one shot from a sniper rifle. I understand the gameplay reasoning for requiring multiple shot kills but they should nerf the ability to snipe at close range by making it harder to get it on target fast - like the real world. People are calling it "quick scoping" but it is really "no scoping". I can't tell you how many times I have been killed in very close combat situation by a "No scoper". This is not real world and should be changed so it can't be done so easily. That is the problem. As far as sniping - that is perfectly fine. If someone wants to stand in the kill area then they should realize there is a good chance that they could be killed by a sniper at a distance.

And about the ballista's sights, the scope is funky because of the "red plus" not being attached to the rest of the lines, and the iron sights don't give a very good field of view while viewing through the sights. Personally, I love this sniper over the XPR and SVU; DSR probably levels with this one.

They had the ballistics CPU in MW3 as stability. The real problem lies in the zoom and the recoil increase (for semis) that comes from attaching scopes and suppressors of all things. One of them (I forget which but I think it is the SVU-AS) has a weaker default zoom and the rest of them don't benefit from the low/default from the variable zoom attachment. Ghost doesn't help sniping much anymore. There are no perks that directly support sniping either like scout or marksman.

you can work the bolt while you sprint, and you can cancel the bolt so you dont have to cock the gun. just shoot and hit reload at the same time, then cancel the reload. works best with the balista and you can shoot almost twice as fast

Drift0r, the reason why you dislike the iron sights is because it hardly has any zoom and makes it extremely hard for you to aim at their mid torso and higher unlike ACOG which actually retains your peripheral vision and still zooms in enough for you to make it useable that way. Iron Sights for extreme CQC (might as well use the KSG really *facepalm*). ACOG for mid range.

The ballista is a very nice sniper, my preferred attachments are in fact the Iron Sights, and Fast Mags. I find myself better using the Iron Sights than ACOG. I find them more better, more versatile. Depending on my gameplay, when it comes to an aggressive gameplay, I run with the iron sight Ballista, and I find them to be very beneficial with close, but especially with long range once you get used to the sights and mastered them.

If youre going for iron sights or a better acog centred scope Ballista is your shit. Also because it has a faster scoping time than the DSR. The DSR is a more traditional scope over mid to long ranges but the ballista is more adaptable. Its more run/scope than the DSR. Different playstyles for either weapon

Great breakdown. This is my weapon of choice, hands down. While ADS it just feels more fluid than the DSR. It's a feel thing, tough to explain, but any BO2 sniper here will know what I mean. While Drift0r said this is the best QS'ing sniper rifle, I think I prefer the DSR for that with the increased damage and "forgiveness" factor that rifle seems to have. Again, totally subjective there. I run Lightweight (not needed), Toughness, Cold Blooded, and Dexterity. The B23R as my secondary with EM.

Sometimes the ballista really rocks. Other times, it's all hit-markers all the time. I know it's supposed to be one-hit-kill from the belly up but I often get hitmarkers chest-high.

Let me just put this out there, the SVU is for spammer sniping. It's best used like a marksman rifle, putting 2-3 shots into the torso due to it's low recoil. It's best used in hardcore where it's always a one shot kill. If you want one shot drops in core with a semi-automatic rifle, then don't use it, use the XPR and aim for chest. I play mostly HC, so I love the SVU for sniping and I'm tired of seeing people complain about how "bad," it is simply because they don't know how it should be used.

I sure love turning a corner and being dead in less than a second since all snipers are is left trigger, right trigger, dead. It does have high recoil. Be Drift0r and shoot at that wall in Nuketown without moving the thumbstick. It has really high recoil. Treyarch is making the SMGs worse when it's the Shotguns and Snipers that are OP.
