After 6-12 months, he revisit them, to see how they are doing. Most actually make it, and thrive, but some fall into old habits, and the nice shop and the customers are just gone. On Finland and coffee... they're the country that drinks the most coffee per capita in the world, followed by us over in Norway, so coffee is important, I think more of the sugary Starbucks "coffee" is starting to show up, but it used to be just black coffee. Also, there are a lot of US cars in the Nordic countries, I've worked in a shop that specifically sold parts for US cars here in Norway, and I've owned a couple US cars, like a '78 Mustang II, and a '80 Buick Century Estate Wagon, and a couple that never made it back on the road, a '79 Foxbody Mustang, and a '76 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. But there's tons of American cars around here, and in that shop I mentioned I've gotten to work on all sorts of stuff, like a C1 Corvette, and even an old '54 Chevy half-ton truck with an old stovepipe I6, old Ramblers, and various Internationals, so we enjoy the old US cars here, and on that point, I've seen old Peterbuilts and various old US trucks I don't recognize roam around here, not often used in actual trucking as the truck is too long so you'd eat up too much of the length allowed for cargo, but they show up at car shows now and then.

Enjoying your channel Bruce, spreading the word about Euro trucks. And Scania's in particular. The MOT test (vehicle inspection) in the UK, looks over the entire vehicle. Everything vital has to work, no dash warning lights, no play in the undercarriage, only surface rust, no body work damage, and brakes and tyres in good condition. Nothing like some vehicles staring on r/justrolledintheshop. The only bit not tested is the gearbox! And radio!

Modern shops look just like this in scandinavia. I was actually surprised that they only had one crane, most shops I've been in has had multiple cranes, enough to have 1 for each lane.

Glad to see the bomb shelter being explained, i live on top of one too. They are nice in apartment buildings as it means there is free storage space downstairs. The downside is that you acquire way too much stuff, because you can always haul some downstairs.

I like the way Bruce is giving a genuine attitude towards another countries tech etc. US exceptionalism is a myth. It's unfortunate that US politicians over decades have run the US down. It is the same for many countries, but the corrupt US political system is probably one of the worse in any developed countries. The US were ahead of the game around 4-5 decades ago, but that changed for some reason and Europe in particular flew ahead of the US by quite some way. I know that a small minority of our american friends here don't like to see this, but Bruce isn't doing anything other than showing it truthfully here. Funny thing is, the US leads in war tech, but ! there you go.. :(

Is not funny, they blow 50% of the federal budget on metal gear...
@Savagetechie11 ай бұрын
The US DOD is the world's largest employer, the biggest percentage of the federal budget and one of if not the biggest budgets in the world.... Imagine if the halfed it and put 25% into healthcare and 25% into education? I should also point out that budget includes at least 1 holiday resort!

America is not ran by politicians but by a KHAZARIAN MAFIA. You don't realize the US is in a war right now, come on wake up. Why do you think they won't allow proper elections.

I used to service these but the snow plough road gritter versions, they are easier than a car to drive, amazingly agile with the best power steering of any vehicle I've ever driven, and absolute bomb-proof engines (that term is used too often but not in this case) very comfortable when I had to take them on the road from service dept to end of winter storage it was a distance of about 4o miles and I could have kept driving for 400 miles and never noticed,

The compulsory bomb shelters in commercial buildings in Finland is something new to me. I don't know other countries in Europe where this is a rule. Yes, we had those purpose built bomb shelters during the cold war, but these were part of civil defence, none of the private companies needed to have them as part of their buildings.
@banaana123411 ай бұрын
All apartment buildings over a certain size have to have them as well. They are usually used for storage lockers for the residents.

When you have Russia as a neighbour it's better to be prepared..
@Kivikesku11 ай бұрын
In the Russian tradition, war is about soldiers terrorising civilians. For them, war is not only man against man but also man against grandmother, man against toddler. So civilians really need bomb shelters.

Was/is a thing in Sweden since the cold war as well, don't know if it's still a rule tho. Every apartment building I've lived in have had bombshelters to fit everyone living in the building + some extra. And working construction, what I know, and remember, is the last 10-15 new built apartmentcomplex I've been at have 'em too. Just don't know if it's still a rule or if we still just keep adding it in.
