What possible reason would they have to care? The writers don't. They don't even bother to watch the movies whose continuity they're meant to be adding to before submitting their first (and usually final) draft. This is what the Blackrock/Vanguard types don't get. You *can't* bin the lore, the canon, the tone, the themes, AND all the legacy characters... and then still have people respond positively to the trademark you bought. Because that lore/canon/etc.? Yeah. That's what gave the IP value in the first place. You have effectively bought an entire lot of cars, stripped out the engines, replaced them with freezers that contain No Name Brand soda (and complimentary No Name Brand t-shirts)... and are surprised to find they don't move the way they used to.

Andor looks at this and laughs. He laughs knowing nothing will ever match him. But he laughs in a really well-written way on practical sets...

We all know why: wrong race, wrong sex, wrong sexuality. I wish I could go back a decade or five, to when racism, sexism and judging people on sexuality were on the decline.

The sad part is, from what the showrunner’s said, he actually jived with the show pitch as a “Peter Pan”-esque show, and even worked with Jude Law on his own production. He seems like someone who might make this actually be decent.

Skeleton Crew has the same marketing as Andor. Let's hope its a good sign.

My brother got bored with Andor. It was a great show, but too slow for viewers who aren't willing to invest into it. And without the Fan Service of Vader or other iconic Star Wars elements, it's hard to draw such an audience into watching it. I'm not sure what that Fan Service would have to be. Darth Vader is an easy one, but they effectively utilized him for the Obi'Wan show which seems to follow a delineated story to Andor. Inquisitors v. Imperial intelligence. Chewbacca? Though at this point he's already with Han Solo, but they could really develop his character more. Show how he ended up in that prison where Solo found him. Mara Jade, a youth being trained by Vader? Might not be big enough of a character to draw audiences. Tarkin is obvious, but I doubt he will draw many people. Leia's adopted father, again not a big draw (also utilized by Obi'wan). Their best bet is a battle akin to what we saw in Rogue One. A spectacle that shows a Star Wars that they can show in advertisements. Andor even had some of those battles happening off screen that we hear about from other factions of rebels. This is probably the draw they need. Less espoinage (which is the point of the show) and some bigger scale battles. The average viewers would love that.

4:59 Good video but this is an insane take, of course the prosthetics are going to look amazing and convincing. Star Wars practical effects have rarely failed in that department

The poster for the War of the Rohirrim says everything you need to know about that perversion of one of Tolkien's masterful appendices. The girl boss in the center of the poster is only mentioned in one sentence and not named by the author. Their explanation, "War of the Rohirrim pulls teh curtain back a little further, allowing audiences to observe a part of teh story that Tolkien might have overlooked." If you ever wondered what hubris looks life in real life, there you go.

It doesnt look horrible and it could be something that is needed for the franchise. No one asked for the Ewok movies but I loved them as a kid. Goonies in space doesnt sound horrible its one of the most loved Movies of its time. But it is modern Disney so excitement is reserved.

There are literally thousands of fantastic stories that could be told in the New Republic era. If Disney hadn't nixed the EU, they could have used it for new stories. Want a series about criminals? The Fringe after Jabba's death is a veritable goldmine. Put together a series about the shadowy rise of Talon Karrde's organization. Or the shenanigans around Booster Terrik obtaining the _Errant Venture._ Want a mystery series? Explore the disappearance of the _Katana_ fleet before the Clone Wars. Or go way back and turn the original _Knights of the Old Republic_ into a series about Revan falling and being redeemed. Want a series for kids? Adapt Kevin J. Anderson's Young Jedi Knights series, telling the story of how Jacen and Jaina Solo, and eventually their brother, Anakin, go to Luke's Academy and meet other Jedi children with whom they have various kid-friendly adventures. Want a dark and gritty series? Make a series about the Imperial Remnant being pushed back to the fringes of the Empire as they are relentlessly pursued by the New Republic. In Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy, it's made clear that the Imperial Navy has begun forced conscription to fill their ranks. There are all kinds of stories available to expand on that. Or go back 25,000 years and tell a story about the first Jedi and how the Jedi Order began. The Thrawn Trilogy could make a wonderful series; three seasons of 6-10, 1-hour episodes covering the entire trilogy. It could begin immediately after the series about Talon Karrde, with the Karrde series ending with a new, mysterious associate named Mara joining Karrde. The Karrde series could also launch a spin-off about Jorj Car'das and his rise and fall, up to his meeting with Yoda. Or, take an entirely different direction and adapt the _Darkstryder_ Campaign from the West End Games RPG. Of course, all of that would require Disney to stop sucking...

Maybe it will be ok. I had some serious doubts about Andor, and that turned into a real gem. That being said I am not going to be shocked if it isn't. The current track record for Star Wars project doesn't inspire confidence.

The final point ticks me off a bit. Andor S2 likely being good may not matter to the broader condition of Star Wars as a property, but it definitely matters to people who want some good Star Wars. Knowing what we know about the state of Lucasfilm, getting any decent Star Wars out of them borders on miraculous at this point, so if they somehow manage not to mess one project up, I'll take it!

I have no issues with Skeleton crew because it's aimed at kids. Let the kids enjoy it, or enjoy it with your kids. Part of the issue with Star Wars fans is that they fell in love with Star Wars as kids, then they grew up, but they wanted Star Wars to grow up with them, when it was really meant to be something for kids, but that adults could enjoy too. Growing up I remember getting up and watching Ewoks, Droids, and the 2 Ewok Adventure movies. I was excited to Star Wars shows as a kid. It wasn't Star Wars that adults could like, but that's okay. It's okay to have Stars Wars that's just for kids. Adults seem to think Star Wars has to be made just for them. Having said all that, I won't watch it, it's not for me. 90%+ of Disney Star Wars isn't for me

1:47 Funny enough there was a show called Star wars resistance about a racer pilot who joins the resistance. Of course they tied it into the sequels and animated it subparly.
