In 2024 they took the same character and put him in live action where he has been doing nothing for years but waiting to be rescued by the female protagonists who then barely give him the time of day and send him on his way so they can do more important things without him.

@@itsaKindaMagik I don't think that's entirely fair, but I get why people are so burned on this stuff. Andor was pretty great imo, a true diamond in the great expanse of rough. But we know KK thought that was going to be of no interest to anyone, so Tony Gilroy was left on his own to work on it for the most part. And Mando S1-2 were some solid Star Wars too...but that was around the time KK realised it was popular and decided she had to get involved and put an end to that nonsense.

Anime is having a pretty positive time. It's a space with sequel series to look forward to and a general sense of things getting better over time. Not a fan of how easily get dismissed the animated parts of start wars, visions was pretty good IMO but I recognise the smaller audience.

He’s relating a fact that movie stars used to be able to depend solely on getting movie rules where now because of all the rules and regulations about hiring POC, transgender people, disabled people and whatever other groups they list, actors are no longer allowed to act.

Honestly, I can imagine Disney just bribing Sharmeen to shut up and not kick up a fuss about her film getting cancelled. "Here's 10 million dollars to keep your mouth shut!" It'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than spaffing money up the wall on a film few people will watch and fewer still will like 🤷

Between Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaacs, and even Adam Driver, how many other roles (without reading off of IMDb) can you name beyond the Sequel Trilogy? For Daisy, all I got was _Murder on the Orient Express_ which wasn’t that large a role. Boyega had the _Pacific Rim_ sequel. Meanwhile, Oscar Isaac was doing _Ex Machina, Sucky Punch, X-Men: Apocalypse_ (won’t hold that against him), and even _Moonknight_ which was a series. Finally Adam Driver is currently in _Megaopolis,_ was in _65_ and had an Oscarworthy lead performance in _Marriage Story_ as well as was in _House of Gucci._ Kinda tells you how well the ST has done for these people, most of which I hadn’t heard of before then.
