Fair criticism all around. The only thing I would say is that actors being involved in politics has been around for over 70 years. They've represented both democrats and republicans. Folks like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kal Penn, Al Franken, Fred Thompson, and Sonny Bono. Heck even 2 of our presidents were actors before they won the White House. Trump acted for years in a reality show and had cameos in movies/TV. The godfather of modern day republicans, Ronald Reagan was an actor for years before becoming the governor of California in 1966. Did you think that their "Hollywood" status hurt them in getting elected? Of course not. While we may not like what the actors of today are saying, but people tend to listen to what the "rich and famous" have to say whether they should or not.

My dad thinks trump is a dumbass but he said kamala lost because democrats are way too out of touch, stopped being the champions of the working class, and are instead the party of celebrities. He got annoyed watching an interview with Kamala’s campaign manger boasting about these celebrity endorsements and he said ppl may like Taylor swifts music or the avengers movies but they couldn’t care less about how they think since are too rich to relate to normal people. My dad lives under a rock and doesn’t know much about the controversies celebrities get themselves into and how ppl like Rachel Zegler behave on social media so he’d probably double down on his take if he kept up with Hollywood. A lot of these celebs have done black face, used slurs, have defended pdfiles, have committed SA or the r word, selectively mock or demonize people, are associated with Epstein, Weinstein, Polanski, and diddy, call for higher taxes while being paid millions, defend the CCP and profit off of genocide, celebrate harm against normal Americans, and demand that the middle class make sacrifices for the environment while they ride around on private jets and shill crypto yet they’re the ones shaming other people and telling them that they’re what’s wrong with society.

Even if he knew of the controversies, and not doing so doesn't mean he's living under a rock, he would absolutely double down on Trump being a dumbarse if he bothered to do 5 minutes of research on Project 2025. Your dad is right. They do not like or care about the poor and the working class now - they are now all about minorities alone (and they'll attack any minorities who don't follow extremist leftist dogma, just look how racist they got after the Latino and black male votes were tallied) and rich celebrities. They also trash white people and men constantly, but surprise Pikachu face when a lot of them didn't vote their way. If you need proof they don't like or care about the working class, look at how they speak about people who are if they voted for Trump. They sneer about those people not being college educated (which has nothing to do with how intelligent or well-informed you are) and poor and stupid and all sorts of other things. If they weren't classist and out of touch, they might just say stupid, but the whole "they're so uneducated compared to the smart college-educated Kamala voters" reveals what they really think about the electricians and construction workers of the world.

Video gaming being smaller audience and scale? Guys, it’s the other way around. Video gaming is bigger than the movie industry, it’s been for years. We are seeing the downfall of mainstream AAA gaming and DEI infested studios faster than the movie industry because of the insane losses that those studios brought upon themselves. Concord alone is a 400 million net loss for Sony, and we keep seeing flops this big again and again. Funny thing is that the industry itself is in a healthy state. Games still sell record amounts every year, it’s just that those big hits do not come from big established companies anymore.
