Fuck it, if he's not just doing country music for the money but is doing it because it's what he really wants to do then good on him. That takes courage and balls. He's doing it even though a lot of people hate it and I respect him for that. I don't like the music but I admire the courage he has to go his own way and do what he wants regardless of whatever anyone might think of him.

And 4 years later after this comment, what they pass as "country" nowadays is even more of an absolute joke. I hear far more elements of hip hop, pop, and rock than I do from traditional country now. It's like all the aforementioned genres are mixed together one way or another, featuring a "country" vocal style. When I grew up in the 90's I thought alot of the country music back then was too commercialized and inauthentic sounding , but listening to this garbage now makes that era sound positively amazing in comparison. (and now that I'm older, I actually like and appreciate most of that 90's stuff)
@trendmassacre8423 Жыл бұрын

I found this the same way a lot of others here found it, but I'm not going to bash it (in fact, I think if it wasn't for the bands David was in before, this would be getting praised much more than it is). Dave's getting a lot of shit for this but he's not the first one to do this. You do realize he's not the first right? Jeff walker of Carcass did a country album about 7 years ago. Tom Hunting and Jack Gibson of Exodus have a country side band. Glenn Danzig wrote a song for Johnny Cash. Dimebag and Vinnie did a Country Metal crossover album called Rebel Meets Rebel. And the dudes from Obituary are huge country fans too. Even Al Jourgenson's favorite musician is Patsy Cline. Get over it.
