Hey Robert! I wouldnt worry about laws changing. Paramotoring has been around for many decades, and the laws haven't changed yet. Once all is said and done, I will have spent about $4000-$4500 on equipment. I bought a really decent used motor and cage for $2000 from a facebook group, and the wing will run me about $1500-$2000 used (I am going to buy a Dudek Universal), and then another $500 for a reserve chute. I have been in contact with my instructor to make sure that all the used gear is safe and adequate for me. You can get everything you need to fly for under $5000 if you're patient and deal search, and please make sure to get the opinions of your instructor and other pilots before purchasing gear. And do tons of research. @NbAllvEr100 Its about $10,000 if you buy Everything brand new and top of the line. I don't see a great reason to spend that much unless you have a lot of money. You can get really good used equipment for much less.

I’ve never flown a paramotor but the cold wind and temp change from a motorcycle can make your muscles tighten up to the point you can barely move your legs. At altitude you just have to endure until you can put down somewhere. I’d need that coffee then!

Its safe as long as you have frequent maintenance and of coarse, training. Without maintenance the harness can get lose which could easily lead to one of the scariest deaths, and cage holes can cause ropes and shit to get caught in the motor and weak frames can be bad for obvious reasons. Unpropper training can also lead south very quickly. Discluding maintenance, training, and lack of commen sensehowever, I would agree that they are rather save vehicles.
