Hi friends, happy Monday!
Hope you like my new basement set up! I needed a refresher so why not in this cute little spot huh? But ooowee today’s story, ooo baby girl Lisa, today’s story is gruesome. And it’s not just one crime. It’s a crime within a crime within a crime within a crime. So proceed with caution my friends. And don't get inspired from stupid movies please. Thank you.
Also, let me know who you want me to talk about next time. Hope you have a great rest of your week, make good choices and I'll be seeing you with a new MMM on Jan 9th 2023 .
Happy Holidays and please have a happy and safe New Year !

My dad went to high school at Ogden High with Courtney and my grandma was friends with Carol. The whole situation was horrendous. Courtney eventually came back to school, but my dad said he was never the same. He ended up taking his own life years later. It's a hard thing for my dad to talk about, I completely understand why.

As a life long resident of Ogden, Utah and a criminal justice graduate I know this story all too well. Cortney's father was a well known OBGYN here and delivered many of us into this world. Lots of us knew Cortney a little as he got older, he was unfortunately disabled after this horrific event and he did pass away in 2002. Since, the Hi-Fi Shop was relocated and is actually walking distance from my house currently. If anyone wants to know more about this story and from the victims perspective there is a book you can read called "Victim" by Gary Kinder.

Hi Bailey. I requested this story because I lived in Ogden UT when this took place. The HiFi shop is still open but in a different location. My dad worked as a civilian at the Hill Air Force Base. They locked down the whole base overnight to look for those guys and they didn’t allow people to call home and let their families know. It was all over the news so everyone was very worried. Yes everyone during that era did eat together as a family in Utah in the 70’s. It’s a very family oriented state so it probably sounds strange. You have more details then I knew from the stories so thank you for that. It’s unreal what people of capable of. Have a Merry Christmas and thank you again for doing this story

I have a question. I’m in the USA. How is Caribbean pronounced? I’ve heard 2 pronunciations; Cara-BEE-un and Ca-RIB-eyun. How do the ppl in the Caribbean pronounce it or is generally pronounced both ways? (Billy Ocean used to sing it like “Cara-byoon” Queen. He’s the ONLY one I’ve ever heard say it like that) Thank you 🙌🏻🇺🇸🫶🏻❤😊

We have failed our wounded warriors. They are used and discarded. America has to step up and do better. Imagine if departments were encouraged to meaningfully cut their budgets and that money was put to use for treatments. Instead they are encouraged to use it or lose it. And the cycle continues. It’s heartbreaking.

My husband used to work in a maximum security prison, he was never offered counseling of any sorts until an inmate pretty much died in his arms. They told him he *could* get counseling, but they would rather he wouldn’t because they needed the budget. Wished him luck and never brought it up again. He took several days off and he got written up for all of them because he didn’t have any time to take off at that point.

My sister was 8 when both our parents use to wonder off for days at a time to smoke rocks… she is the eldest and she (not to be weird) is more like my mom than my sister. She took care of all 4 of us. I was a newborn, and this was in the early 80’s. Despite us being separated for decades after HRS came around, we all found each other again (before social media) and she’s the sibling I have the strongest bond with… the others not so much. She sat and just held their hands. When she came home after her shift I saw so much pain in her eyes, and she cried and cried. To this day she still has trauma from this crime. My mother took myself and my brother to place flowers at the Hi-Fi Shop for many, many years. It wasn't until I was much older she told me what happened.
