So the CB650R wins right guys? :D Nice comparison, I own the CB650R but I've test ridden the F900R. The F900R definitely feels more lively in corners and lighter but heavier at a standstill (because it is). While power is only 10bhp more on the BMW it has almost 30NM more torque and I really noticed that, but then I love revving the CB650R all the way to 12,000rpm too. The biggest selling point in the UK for the CB650R is the price, £7200 new and the BMW is £8900 in standard spec. If I had £9k to spend I'd also be looking at the new Street Triple R as that's a bargain!

I like the looks of the Honda and we all know the reliability and smooth gears. Of course tires on any bike make a huge difference, no mention of this but likely the BMW has better stock tires🤔

Interesting comparison. Well made, thank you! The Honda for me. No riding modes, lighter, cheaper (buy and run) more nimble and easier to handle. Yep, I have one! Done 14000km and I love it. Tested the F900R and sure, it's a good bike. More vibrations than the Honda. And not that much better than the old F800R, if you ask me.
@BlackSun3Tube4 жыл бұрын
The 900 is a lot better than the 800, BMW did restart from scratch, but with the experience. Vibrations are very smooth, it's like riding a purring cat - very cool in fact.. The 650 is a good little bike, more for beginners. Lack of torque. Cool designs for both.
@johnDukemaster4 жыл бұрын
@@BlackSun3Tube "more for beginners" you say. As do others, but I don't. This bike is more capable to cover most riders needs imo. But it needs revings, that's true. 😁
@BlackSun3Tube4 жыл бұрын
@@johnDukemaster But not enough torque at low revs. That s why I never bought a 650 4 cylinders - the difference with even a 750 4 cylinders is huge. Buying a 650 sport 4 cylinders, with something like 120 CV, for a non beginner, it's ok, so you can make some track days. But only 95 CV and forced to rev to have some juice ... beginners choice.

@@johnDukemaster You may not agree. But maybe you didin' t drive other bikes, ypu may be a young driver with little experience of bikes.. The most important, above all, is that it fits your needs. But I dont know much experienced dirvers would would choose this bike if they have the choice and budget for choosing something else ... Yes, it has a nice design. But a 4 cylnders of 95 HP and so little torque has poor chances to satisfied someone who did drove better bikes. It's just an entry level in the bikes world. With more budget and same design, there s the 1000 one. For more torque or more power, there are tons of other models. 650 with more than 120 HP, for example. This is just a good "work horse", or "apprentice horse". And it does well what it's intended to. That s a simple fact. Not just an opinion question.

Love the Honda reliability, easy driving and perfect quality. But i would buy it the day they build a mid size bicylinder roadster, with a version of the Africa Twin engine for exemple. According to me, No sense to keep on product no-torque inline 4 cylinders below 750cc
@BlackSun3Tube4 жыл бұрын
Agree with that. Designed for beginners and/or budget purpose.
@krp-xe3hw4 жыл бұрын
It's one of the most expensive 600's in the market. Nothing budget about an inline 4 compared to a parallel twin. It also makes more power than most of its competitors in the class. The inline 4 trades torque for rpm which is better for hp. Honda just has a different approach than the rest in this segment. Yamaha went for the opposite approach and kawasaki.... well idk what they were thinking other than budget friendly bikes.
@BlackSun3Tube4 жыл бұрын
@@krp-xe3hw I meant, about budget, that it has not the price of a big bike, considering buying and maintaining costs. I love the look, and am quite sure it has the Honda productions qualities: easy to drive, secure, not really sport design - even if the brand seems to have done an effort here, on this "dark side" of a bike. Most testers do enforce that idea, including pro ones. Now, for every day ride, I think a little 650 four cylinders may not be the good choice for an experienced rider, because of the lack of torque, and even more at low revs, when speed limit is not exceeded. But for a beginner, such specifications can give a better feeling and control than a 2 cylinders, generally a bit more brutal even with assists.

Wrong bike to use against the Bmw. It should be the Yamaha MT09. That MT09 is actually better due to adjustable suspension.
@BlackSun3Tube4 жыл бұрын
The pbm of the MT09 is the frame at quite high speed, and you have to take the SP version to minimize risks. At low speed, very good handling. A fantastic engine. But a bit tiring, except if using rain mode when riding in town, less versatile than the BMW too. So: Yamaha for the engine, BMW for the frame and for all purpose usage.

I dont think is worth the extra cash for the BMW if you can have Honda reliability, cheaper maintenance, cheaper and faster delivery on replacements and post-sale service (at least on spain)……. and still can spend that 3k extra money on a quickshifter, luggage or an epic exhaust system for that 13000rpm engine. Its a motorbike that literally last forever just doing the oil and filter changes on time. BMW cars are fine. But their motorbikes are one of the less reliable vehicles on the market. (unless you are an adventurer bike youtuber… then they give you a GS for free, to tell your viewers how good the bike is, while Deep inside all you wish for is riding the Africa Twin)
@BlackSun3Tube4 жыл бұрын
The GS is considered by number of specialists like the best bike ever made. Reliability depends on models and series, not only on brand. Honda makes good bikes. BMw are not so bad too. For me, the lack of torque, etc, of the Honda here, makes me choose the BMW definitly.

@@vintagerealityvr As I said, I can drive without any assistance, my last bike didn't have even the ABS. But those helps are a "plus". On a 4 cylinders, traction control may not be needed, for example, even on wet road. On a torquy engine, except for fun moments, it s usefull. When you have it and use it, you drive in a more zen way. If you test for 3 weeks with in mind the fact that you won t keep the bike, it may not set you in the same spirit state than considering riding really with such things all days for several years. You may not have encountered situations where it should have been used. But, simply, when you have it under you finger, you do use it and appreciate it - keeping in mind it s your bike, not a bike you test which you want to have some fun with. Like you said above, depends on your usage; but on your age too, etc. Finally, you can live with a gsm phone. But if you have a smartphones, it offers more choices. On my bike for example, I use different modes, including the customised one where I can deactivate the rear ABS. I can live without that. But it s better with ;).
