I am a learner rider and I got the cb650 instead of the parallel twin competitors specifically because the inline four requires more deliberate revving to open up the power. Easier to manage throttle control and not surprise myself with lots of power, but still access it if I need to.
@ewganhoff6 жыл бұрын
I have the same one as the video. This bike has a surprisingly usable mid range but it really comes alive up top. Plenty of power to be very very naughty on the road. The suspension is also good, especially the front, feedback inspiring confidence and being stable and flickable at the same time. It's a great overall package.
@sarahdell40424 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard it’s super lazy to turn and feels heavy?
@ewganhoff4 жыл бұрын
@@sarahdell4042 Nah, I have to respectfully disagree. The steering is very neutral when going slow or very fast, it is a Honda after all, and the don't usually get these things wrong. It just goes where I want it with predictability and total confidence. Maybe the front tyre was low on pressure when the person who told you that rode it. My only problem with the front end is a vain one - I think Honda should have ponied up and used USD forks, to go with the sporty look of the rest of the bike. On the other hand I love the action of the dual bending valve forks, they work very well absorbing bumps around town but provide great support when hammering the front break or sending it in the twisties.
@user-rb3jw7yj9o Жыл бұрын
@sarahdell4042 not true. Feels very light and flickable on the move. It's a bike that you keep in the mid rev range to access power quickly. People who say that sort of stuff are doing it wrong, probably used to riding big twins (1200 GS for example).

I ride the CBR650. Same bike with a bit more faring and slightly different bars. If you have proper control of your seating position using knee pressure and core muscles to prevent your butt from sliding around, it is nigh impossible to knock your jewels on the tank as mentioned from 3:20 . If you sit this thing like a mobility scooter you really deserve those knocks, bro.

Not once do i see you take this thing to the powerband, this thing dominates the 650class when you let the engine stretch. It punches way above its weight, and its evident in tracktimes. Some brazilian bike show tested it against the MT-07 and z650. The CB was over 3 seconds quicker. No contest to be honest.

I've had mine just shy of a year now. It is a lovely little bike, but I have some observations 1. Keeping your pipes shiny is a never-ending battle and the top of the pipes by the cylinder head are incredibly hard to get access to. Leave a lot of time to do the pipes, and keep doing it regularly or the metal will be unsalvageable. 2. The plastic is cheap. I've had to replace my indicators because they cracked and the plastic around my dials is no longer clipping together - this drives me nuts. Saying this, the plastic on the tank has no problems. 3. some nuts and bolts need to be tightened from the factory, ive lost a few because of this. 4. Very thirsty bike. Sometimes I only get 100 miles a tank. Despite the aforementioned problems though, I'm still happy with the bike.

@ColtColin6 жыл бұрын
I test rode both these bikes last year. The z650 was so easy to ride, it's so nimble and a really good first big bike. However the cb650 just has thst extra "holy sh!t" factor when you're giving it the beans. I personally prefers the Honda. But the z650 is a great bike too. My best advice to you is take both out and see which one shouts at you the most.
