That was an awesome breakdown!! Not much better then playing with new tools/goodies. Lol! I've done a little welding, which I learned while taking an auto body course years ago. The chemical effect on your lungs really needs to be talked about, cause I don't recall them covering that during my training. Mainly about protecting your eyes. I truly hope this vid gets a ton of views, so this knowledge gets out there.

What about field vision differences? The CLT one seems to be weard and unconfortable compared to the more, classical crystal 2.0. In another hand the fact that the CLT is closer from the head the helmet height is more bearable than the crystal 2.0?

Actually, welding fever is when you keep buying welding equipment because you want the best and sometimes don’t even really need it ! Like I just did buying a fronius!

I'm no welder but your video looked interesting. I've learned a lot, specifically how advanced welding helmets have become! Thanks so much for the education!

can't wait to have the swiss air for my welding team, been trying the panoramax for offshore pipeline with semi auto gmaw-fcaw process, helmet was doing great, but the 2.5 my welders are having difficulty to press the grind mode with welding gloves on. Panoramax in the other hand was simplier, equip with swiss air, wow cant wait to see doing offshore pipeline

First off, as I narrowed down my options to either the Swiss Air or the e3000. I truly thank you for the providing this review... Now, as I am making ready to pull the trigger. Just curious, have you had the chance to do your "follow up"?. 2nd, nice Beads bro!!!

We are glad this could help you! Always good to hear ! We have not been able to do the follow up video just yet. Devin has been super busy, but we will be filming it soon!

How does the Swiss air perform against welding galvanized? It's primarily all I weld at my job and even with a 3M half mask respiratory it's starting to get a little hard to breathe

I don't know your situation but I'm concerned. Is it possible to shop around for another job where they don't force you to weld galvanized?

We call it metal fume fever where I work. The welders and plasma cutters get it when working with brass copper and galvanised steels. It’s not fun 😂 We all use e3000x s now

TIG welding, from most to least hazardous, based on the toxicity and severity of health risks associated with their fumes: Beryllium Copper: Extremely hazardous due to the high toxicity of beryllium, which can cause chronic beryllium disease (CBD) and lung cancer. Even small exposures can be very harmful. Cadmium-containing Alloys: Cadmium fumes are highly toxic and can lead to severe health issues, including lung and kidney damage, and are known carcinogens. Lead-containing Alloys: Lead fumes are very toxic and can cause lead poisoning, affecting multiple bodily systems, particularly the nervous system. Stainless Steel: Produces hexavalent chromium fumes, which are carcinogenic and can cause serious respiratory problems, including lung cancer. Galvanized Steel: Produces zinc oxide fumes that can cause metal fume fever, a temporary but intense flu-like illness. Although less severe in the long term compared to the others, it can be quite debilitating.

has anyone there gotten metal fume fever even while wearing the e3000x?

@@MichaelDespairs nope but I found the heat made the plastic brittle after a few months and it would crack and break away unfortunately

Hi, Thank you for this video. I'm hesitating between the combo crystal + E3000x and a panoramax CLT + Swiss air. I think E3000x is better due to the refreshing air flow that blow on all the face while Swiss air is only on nose and mouth. Moreover I've tried the CLT and I was hurt on nose when the helmet fliped down. What do you think about that? Thanks

Thank you for the comment! We should have a video out shortly on a final review but I prefer the Crystal + E3000X combo. It is more comfortable to me! - Devin

58 yo dude here just checking videos on the optrel mask for grinding (home diy angle grinder). I could write a chapter based on life experience about how it's the things we love that hurt us the most. In your young shoes I would seriously reconsider the long term occupational risks of welding (extensive welding - ie, beyond having the skill in your back pocket for diy). I think welding is a great skill, but your lungs are a miraculous gift from God that you can't live a happy or productive life without. Also, please realize hobbies and interests are more fluid or plastic than you may realize. You could have the same or even higher level of enjoyment in a hobby that's safer for lungs and eyes over long term. Lungs and eyes are about as vital as it gets. 2A hobby, wood working, darkroom photography, sewing, hiking, rollerblading are my hobbies, but I also eventually want to have welding skill in my back pocket. 👍

PLEASE DO NOT WELD AFTER CLEANING WITH BREAK FLUID, it creates something like mustard gas or something very VERY toxic
