John 928 I have a 802a package and they are electronic. Button is on the door with other mirror controls. I always use it while parking in town due to width. Also, nice to have when squeezing into smaller spots off road.

This is the truck I have, and let me tell you it is pretty good. I drove the last two weeks in the mountains between north Wyoming and north Montana. I drove through all the off road options, Including 1 foot of snow, and the truck behaved as intended. I suggest the truck to all you out there that like and need to drive off road.

I’ve heard from several mechanics that while eco boost can provide excellent power it comes at a cost. That cost being premature engine wear/tear leading to expensive repairs.

You mentioned that you experienced issues with the transmission. I’ve had my Gen 2 Raptor for over 2 years and at first I was on the fence with the transmission; however, what I came to realize is that the truck adapts to the driver after some time “learning” your habits and driving style. I normally use Sport mode and have a heavy foot, so it’s adapted and I cannot remember the last time it didn’t shift properly and aggressively when I demanded it. You have to use the driving modes properly to obtain the full potential of this beast and allow it to adapt to you over a little time.

I own a 2018 and just hit 50k miles. I had hesitation at first but Ford Performance did it right. Remember, this is a baja truck. The 3.5L ecoboost while having obvious turbo lag, still does extremely well and will beat the gen 1 Rousch Raptor (600hp) any day. So while opting for the gen 2, I get more hp, torque and more bells and whistles than my Mercedes SUV. The other reason the 3.5L works is that it’s smaller and lighter giving the truck less weight and a lower center of gravity for better overall handling and performance. If my only complaint is the exhaust sound, I’m okay with that. Did I mention the turning radius is amazing? Which you will need for a super crew truck.

If I'm going to dream, I want the 2020 (2019 will also do lol) F-150 755hp Shelby Super Snake, which is nearly double the cost of this truck at $120k! Brian Shaw (4 X World's Strongest Man) just purchased 1 and he showed it off the day it was delivered by an Indy Hauler from Kentucky. It's an amazing vehicle and they are numbered and he has #2 and #1 isn't even on the road yet as it will be auctioned off. No telling how much some rich bloke (or woman) will pay for the privilege of having #1. This truck is also very nice....and expensive lol.

I just don't want to buy a truck that looks sexy but will be only in the shop after two or three years of use. With the way manufacturers are designing the inside of pick ups these days, the statement "You want to be reminded that you are driving a truck." only holds weight when I'm doing a task that requires my truck to be a truck, not my infotainment system. For that price it would be nice if the interior was more on par with what other manufacturers are pushing out these days at a lower price point. Just my opinion, but the carbon fiber accents are a bit lazy. You hear the words, carbon fiber, and there is an illusion of "luxury" that is quickly dismissed when you look inside the truck. But I suppose that at the end of the day, you didn't buy the Raptor for how it looks inside. If I am to be honest, I'd still buy one. Either way great review, keep up the good work.

Thanks :). The F150's interior is based on the last gen before RAM and others introduced theirs which is a lot fancier. I'm sure the next gen F150 will again leap frog them and then they release something better...Still the Raptor is a insane truck.

Why why why, not put the 6 1/2 ft bed on the Extended cab version? Bugged me ever since the Raptor came out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they could have used just one wheel base for all the Raptors that way (the supercrew wheel base) for both cab configurations that way. The Extended cab with the more usable bed length option just seems crazy not to offer.

"Close to 97 inches wide with mirrors." So, same as a regular F150. Interesting how many don't know that the cab (including mirrors) is just a regular F150 cab. Not any wider. The front and rear track are the only things wider than a regular F150, and the wider Raptor-specific fenders have to accommodate. But when you include standard mirrors, it's all the same width overall. Guys that buy a regular F150 and throw on zero or negative offset wheels are the same width essentially, minus the bodywork. To put another way; a regular stock F150 and an F150 Raptor fit through the same hole in a wall if you don't fold the mirrors on either one.
