Hello Tim, I just wanted to say I worked Construction for 15 years and I have seen many Operating Engineers and Josh is the best I have ever seen! You spent a lot of money for all of your work but honestly you saved so much having Trip & Josh do the job. You would have spent 3 to 4 times more having an inexperienced Engineer. Josh was the best of the best and saved you so much money by his work experience and knowledge of everything that you needed done! The Ridge looks absolutely amazing! What a fantastic job done by Trip & Josh and also Taylor Trucking with the stone for your driveway. Seriously you might think that you spent a lot but you saved so so much having someone who was one of the best Operating Engineer I have ever seen and I have seen hundreds over my 15 years when I worked construction. Hi Tim, another good video I stayed right with it from beginning to end without dozing off too and I did that a little with some other video in the morning just couldn't keep awake after I got up too early I thought I was all up for the day and bright-eyed but no got my chair and dozed off. So I just learned that when that gravel comes off the truck it's wet and it's already cemented

As a 35 year retired professional road builder I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I could almost smell the dirt as the dozer operator was creating the swale drainage and knocking off those high spots. By the way, that was a real professional dozer operator. I used to get a lot of my operators out of the Union Hall and if I was some of those guys I would be ashamed to call myself an operator. Kudos to that truck driver as well for an awesome job of tailgating. The one roller with the tapered lugs is called a sheepsfoot roller. Perfect for compacting fill soil with a mix of clay. That was an expensive project and well thought out. I liked how you took the time to put a swale ditch along the drive on either side for drainage. Especially going down the hill past the s curves. That eliminated having to put in any culverts which saved you a few bucks and extended years of use to your driveway. I smashed that thumbs up and subscribed. I'm going to enjoy the rest of the RidgeLife build.

With all of the curves you may wish you would have made them wider when you are pulling 20 foot trailers or other large deliveries so you can keep the trailer wheels on gravel. I don't know just a thought.

Yes but I had to have a driveway to get the trucks up so they don't get stuck in the mud. It's a catch 22. I have a box blade so no real issue.
