That car was very fast for having "only" 260 hp. Can somebody explain what happened 4:24? It sounded like DSG released the clutch to change gears but then engaged the same gear again?

Misha probably stomped on the gas harder when it was shifting, causing the ''kickdown'' to activate and it shift back to the lower gear.

I once test-drove a 1.4 TSI Scirocco and it had worse understeer than my Corrado with the heavy 2.9l VR6 way up front.. perfect understeer machine, lol. Anyway, still nice to see this (now already relatively rare) car on road or track.

The last Scirocco I saw on a Nurburgring video was white and airborne, you’ll know which one if you watch a lot of crash vids. Obviously it wasn’t going to be driving home afterwards but the passenger cell looked remarkably intact considering how spectacular the crash was. Tough little tub.

After all, I've always loved Scirocco, even been a nicer Golf V (dials are exactly like mine). I hope you can do some laps in the older Sciroccos, really nice for the 70s and 80s cars. My favourite, the 80s MK2 🙂

It's anti-lag system all turbo charged sports cars have it but modifying the exhaust will make them louder

@@atefm6 that is absolutely not antilag. its a popcorn tune thats letting the injector cycle run even with the throttle closed, the fuel is actually making it past the turbo and combusting in the cat, mid pipe, and resonator/muffler. this does nothing to help the turbo stay spooled and can actually slow the turbo down/surge since the pressure is coming up backwards, AGAINST the blades of the compressor wheel. a true antilag setup will alter the ignition timing to fire injectors and spark plugs while the exhaust valves are still partially open. this causes a mini explosion BEFORE the turbo, which will then cause it to spool up or remain spooled from the force pushing WITH the compressor blades.
