I am from Seattle which has likely the most beautiful setting of any city in America but architecturally we can't hold a candle to Milwaukie. The number of beautifully preserved antique buildings is amazing. I think block per block this may be the most beautiful city in America. I am really surprised! All those incredible old mansions and I was stunned to actually see hills there.

Milwaukee. This is not Oregon. However, with it's proximity to Chicago--which in my opinion has the world's best skyline and architecture--has an influence in that department on Milwaukee. It justs has great architecture other cities don't have.

I am going to disagree with you, I think Chicago is the prettiest city in the US, the skyline alone is stunning. I have been to Seattle for business and it is beautiful no doubt especially with the gorgeous mountain backdrop but Chicago with its size and beautiful architecture off of Lake Michigan is nearly impossible to beat.

Born here, lived here for 31 years and in every state I have lived in (3) and every state I visited business or vacation, I can honestly tell you without the shadow of any doubt that Milwaukee is the most segregated city period. Btw, I was a firefighter/emt here for 13 years. Overtaxed, underpaid, racist and truly hateful people that is until you get them drunk or talk packers football. Never going back.

I am a Milwaukee native. Born and raised here. This was pretty solid. I loved it. And just like any other state. We have our good and bad of thing's in life. No state is perfect. However. We here in Milwaukee. We have some very nice, hospitable folks here. Come on over Milwaukee. We got you!

For anyone wondering, the bird sounds are almost definitely not added in. They're so loud in the summer. That being said I love it. I work and live near downtown and constantly see rabbits and squirrels everday. A possum lives in the bushes near me. I've even seen a fox and a deer in the area they're driving around

I find it so ridiculous how terrified Wisconsinites get when talking about Milwaukee. The worst parts of the city are better than the best of many of their sister cities! Speaking from somebody who has lived in Baltimore for quite a while. Y'all have it good with such a great city.

Despite being the largest city in Wisconsin with about 570k population, downtown is mainly corporate offices and such. Retail shops are almost nonexistant and most shops downtown are just local restaurants and live theather events.

East side and third ward is where people are at. Downtown is all offices.

Milwaukee has never had the street people presence of a Chicago etc.. but I think must have been a particularly sleepy Sunday because the City has really felt pretty bustling this summer. Finally feels like it's come back to life post-covid.
