Nothing to do with the subject of this video. I just found out their is going to be a test of the Emergency Broadcasting System Wednesday, including cell phones. It got me worried that it will knock out our apps, for some of us mid-delivery. Will our apps stand up to this? Will we loose our itinerary? We all know most of our apps are POS programs that glitch when you sneeze. Do you recommend trying not to be using them during the test?
@YourDriverMike Жыл бұрын
@@lucusrose2762no I would work per usual. I’m trying to remember the last similar alert but on iPhone I feel like it’s a banner style notification not an entire screen thing. These apps rarely reimburse workers for glitches though but I’m hoping there wouldn’t be an issue.

I signed up about 6 months ago and still have not taken a job, (Boston area). I've only seen one or two total jobs that may have made sense. The vast majority of offers are 10-20 mile commutes, 10-20 miles drop off and my return trip would be 20 miles. The average trip for me is round trip 30-45 miles and the average pay is 25 bucks! I factor in commute to and from and some jobs will lose money. Today they offered 25 dollar job for 24 mile ride, I live 40 miles from the pick up and 30 miles from the drop off. To be an on demand courier who can pick up on very short notice, the pay is incredibly low, even losing money on some. The job today was three hours time, 19 dollars in gas, and it paid a total of 24 dollars. If I lived closer to a pick up spot, usually Lowes, it could be worth it if it fit into your schedule and you were already driving that way. I have found that most jobs come out to be about 7-9 dollars per hour for an on demand courier using your own truck/vehicle. The pay is way too low and considering it is an on demand luxury service, most pick up times are expected to be picked up with 30 minutes!

It's real simple. If you have a delivery app the gas that you waste in order to go back and forth to a delivery location or warehouse cost money. Secondly, you're destroying your vehicle driving back and forth to location and making deliveries. God forbid if you live in a city where you have to pay Tolls to get to the warehouse OR in order to just make a successful deliver order. Your 1st hour is just to pay for the tolls and your 2nd hour is probably to pay for your gas depending on the distance which is usually not close.

Thanks for all the information you provide. I have some information to share. I'm in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and I use Point Pickup. The gigs are good but the app is terrible. I have had the same issue several times. So I will open app and be at the login screen. Input my credentials and press SIGN IN. Next MFA screen, asked to entry code; I entry code received via SMS and press "Continue"; I'm taken back to the login screen and a popup box appears saying "Session invalidated". So this series of events will happen over and over. I then contact support via chat (which is the only way to reach them ). Each time they ask me to uninstall and reinstall the app and a few other things which don't immediately work. Eventually I'm able to access the app but this issue keeps happening. Sorry this is so long but needed to include the details. Has anyone else experience this situation?😒 Thanks

But I've noticed if I wait to accept when I'm close the job just disappears but I drive away from the pickup and it will pop back up and will have increased in price. but in your boat I have a RV converted sprinter but I have space for 2 pallets and can carry 1700 lbs so looking to find a way to use the van for work and yeah gas ain't cheap if I used my wife's Tesla it would increase profitably but decrease cargo size I can carry, also my wife isn't comfortable driving the van so she would be without a vehicle while I'm working.

@myoutuber772 ай бұрын
Kind of sounds like you were born yesterday. All gig platforms have next to no support and everything bad that happens is your fault. They are all hostile, no exceptions. Example: Roadie -- You wait for an order at Home Depot to pick up for 20 mins because it is not ready. Meanwhile Roadie cancels your gig and lowers your rating because you have stayed at the pick up location too long after accepting the offer. Generously, they do not deactivate you just yet but you will see a lot fewer gigs for a week following the incident as punishment. There is a reason why Roadie has gigs published for not ready pickups. It is one way how they control their driver population.
