Nah! Its fine. Ive driven my Ducato camper van there several times. Sure the rural roads are narrow and need concentration - just slow it down a bit. The motorways on the other hand are a joy - zero traffic and epic views, even if you do have to pay a toll (which is well worth it IMO) . The major roads are also wide with a large shoulder, and also a joy to drive on. The only thing i found wearing in the camper was the cats eyes on smaller roads - they have them on the edge as well as the mid line, and you just cant avoid them easily in a wide vehicle, so the whole time its 'thunk thunk thunk thunk'! 😅.

I used to live there for about 3 years and this looks normal. There are roads with 2/3rds this size or some rural roads half the size

Gee thanks for the sage advice Kikah. I’ll be sure to adjust my attitude next time we hit the road in a foreign country… you’ve really helped out here. 😂

I understand, if your familiar with open roads ( as in no hedgerows), then it's a bit claustrophobic. Being irish to us is pretty standard. I've driven mountain roads on the Island of Majorca Spain, scary..hope you enjoyed your stay 🫠

looks like a normal road? i dont get it. i was hoping for a a single tight lane road with two way traffic and tall hedges on both sides lol

Yeah there was plenty of that also. My wife just failed to capture it on video, while I was keeping 👀s on the road. 😉

All looks normal to me, what is this video about ?.

Perfectly normal and those look like good roads. Not every nationality needs their roads to be the width of a motorway to drive.

The roads are well maintained. I already said that. This video really doesn’t do justice to some of the challenging roads/conditions in certain areas. I stand by what I said. Living in America there are a lot of bad drivers, who would not do well in Ireland or other countries with similar driving conditions. I am an experienced driver and I did fine. My original title was a lighthearted reference to Ireland’s sometimes challenging roads (very narrow, large service vehicles and buses flying like bats out of hell down one-lane roads, etc.). I did fine, but those on here who are suggesting that driving in Ireland is a “cakewalk” and free of any challenges to the average driver, are full of shit and just looking to make a negative comment. 😀

Left out the errant sheep on the road; the flooded road sections, bicyclists, god forbid a pedestrian as there are a lack of sidewalks, hidden driveways...

And the most important - white van man taking racing line instead of keeping it in his lane @ 6 in the morning because he thinks no one is up so its not a problem. Had that happen to me twice in a very short period of time. Both times white van end up in a ditch.

I like how roads that aren't desolate open spaces scare the Americans.

Haha, no problem really. The roads are well-maintained and local drivers are mostly good, albeit rather aggressive. As long as you’re okay with being thrown to the wolves (steering wheel on the right, first time, haha, crowded roundabouts every couple minutes, giant trucks barreling down tight, two lane roads with no shoulder, flying by you with inches to spare)… if you’re good with all that, then f-ing go for it my friend! 😂
@iano69444 ай бұрын
Steering wheel on the right, yes. We grow up driving that side. No problem. Its the same when we travel abroad and drive left hand cars,, down little country lanes in France etc..

The only problem I can see is that your not very confident driving so maybe you shouldn’t be driving they are normal roads wait till you get to the side roads and there only one lane and still 80 kph

And the only problem I see is that you don’t know how to write a sentence using correct punctuation. So perhaps we’ll call it even 😂

Did you see any issue with the driving in the video? No. I was killing it, “mate.” Two days in and I might has well have been driving those f-ing roads for 20 years 👊🏼. I think your lack of any sense of humor is the issue here 😜
