The reservoir tank location messes with it. I put mine on the side that side too and car started over heating. I thought it was the same problem but I switched it back and it was fine again

Jimmy there is a special way you have to bleed the systems with the MISHIMOTO overflows tank. You cannot depend on it to bleed with the bleed screw as it would with the OEM setup. Pull off the overflow hose / return line to the overflow tank and let it just pour out into a 2L bottle and bubble out that way. The internals of the MISHI tank do not allow for the bleed screw to be utilized as the overflow hose is blocked internally on the tank. Trust me, I had one and went through the SAME headache! Like so he can see!

Test you thermostat in a pot of hot water on the stove with an accurate thermometer to tell temp...see what temp it opens up at...if at all...and if it opens when it is suppose to...you have another issue...eliminate possibilities...rather then going through the hassles of removing and replacing thermostats to see if they work... I remember getting 2 bad ones in a row from the parts store for my old 6.2 diesel truck...
@Chocolate_dragon4 жыл бұрын

Buy an airlift tool. You can vacuum test your cooling system for leaks and then fill up the whole engine when you're done by displacing the lack of air in the system with coolant. Then you just need to warm it up to temp with a funnel at the highest point to bleed the rest of the air out.
@dustinbornhoft23134 жыл бұрын

Try bleeding the cooling system with your heat on - there’s usually a valve for the heater core that closes when the heat is off. Turning your heat on will open this valve thus completely bleeding your cooling system. Good luck!

Now I test them all and 1 in 7 is junk out of the box it takes less time to test them in boiling water than doing the job over and over. I feel your pain.

Yeah you need to run flat stock across the top of the sliders and as close to the trans tunnel as possible to bolt your seat in from there. Basically squeeze it as close to the trans tunnel as you can get it. Awesome car btw, and Right Hand Drive FTW

I had a MkIV gti with the 1.8t, depending on which 1.8T engine you have (I had AWP) you should be making 9-12 pounds of boost stock. If you're making 5, that usually means you're in limp mode. Easiest way to recreate it is to unplug the MAF. At stage 2 boost is around 21-24 depending on the car. If that thing rips now, it's going to be insane.

It can be a total pain to get the air pockets out. I’ve had some luck with my m50 engines if I jack the front crazy up, then put he heater on full hot, blasting and then revving the shit out of the engine without the coolant cap on. It will make a mess, but a coolant filling funnel will help with that
@MRTuning7044 жыл бұрын
So at work we had a machine that would suck all the coolant and air out of the system It would suck the hoses flat every bit of air out of the system And then it pumps fresh coolant in to make sure no air gets back into the system You need one it’s time
Nakian www.autobodytoolmart.com/product/vacufill-coolant-exchanger-tester-570000/fluid-extractors-evacuators?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI37am9oTr6AIVBFYMCh2UqwKFEAkYBCABEgILH_D_BwE This is the exact model and style we had at Midas

the thermostat opens with water pressure, if your heater core doesn't have a restriction on the outlet you will have problems with the engine overheating. going to burn out the front half of the engine, could also lead to cracking the front of the block/cylinder head.
@syndical4 жыл бұрын
Firts thing to check is if your rad fans blow's hot air or cold air , if the air is cold , your thermostat is not opening !, and check if the coolant libe after the thermostat is hard or soft without pressure.

Hey Jimmy! I own a mk4 golf 1.8t myself! Brad should be making anywhere from 10-12 psi on a stock ecu! 5-7 would be considered fault mode for it! Most common thing people do is go atmospheric and realize they're in fault mode because they're tuned for a dv. So maybe start there! Should definetly make more boost!
