You sir are uplifting the gen 3 mazda3 community 👍. Is this the VT twin screw supercharger? How was the tuning process?
@abou8243 жыл бұрын
Yep that's what it is. The tuning process is pretty easy but relatively long. If you've done orangevirus or DRtuned it's pretty much like that. Doing data logs and everything before you write the next revision to the ECU.

Hello I'm a long time lurker and wondered how the car has held up over 3 years? I have a 2.0 and was waiting for the turbo kit but its still only compatible with the 2.5, as my car is getting older I don't want to boost it but am planning to get another 2017 hatch in 2.5 for the turbo kit. I'm not heart set on the turbo kit and am still deciding whether or not I'll get another 2.0 or 2.5, just curious how the car has been and if you had the option to start over would you still do the supercharger or would you turbo?
@abou8244 күн бұрын
@@ImEthan98 It's been great and it's only getting faster as the sauce tune gets better and better. There's no 2.0 turbo kit commercially available yet so the super is the only option. Given the dynos I've seen of the Corksport 2.5 turbo kit vs the 2.5 supercharger, I don't think the added complexity and chance of engine damage from the turbo kit is worth it. The instant power you get from the supercharger is better imo too.
@ImEthan984 күн бұрын
@@abou824 Thanks for the quick response. That makes sense, I was concerned about wear on the valve train since it seems a bit complex to tune the valve overlap properly with the high compression ratios so that was a reason I was leaning towards the super. My car just hit 160k miles though and it's been good to me, I think she's too old for it now but I think I'll end up getting another 2.0 when this one is tired. I assume the 2.0 revs a hair faster too than the 2.5
@abou8244 күн бұрын
@@ImEthan98 Justin (sauce tuner) has the whole thing figured out. The only engines we've had explode have been from gross negligence. And yeah the 2.0 revs faster and higher
@ImEthan982 күн бұрын
@@abou824 I'm glad it's been figured out and better established now. I did a leakdown test on my engine around 145k and it was still ~95% on all cylinders, have you known anyone to install one on such a high mileage engine? Ultimately I will still most likely wait to get a new to me 3, but it's fun playing with the idea of boosting this one if it's plausible

Sound cool to bad this platform won’t make anywhere as much power as it’s previous predecessor speed 3 and speed 6 line unless the engine gets reworked . And more tuning options become available . Mazda needs to bring back the speed lineup . I’d like a follow up how well the engine is holding up 6-8 months from now .

No, the sky platform is a little harder to get power out of. It's remote tuning, the best option is Justin freemans sauce tune. Super easy.

Might be a silly question but I noticed in your reel where you do some revs and pulls, the whine is significantly noticeable. Which sounds great. But on your first start up video, you couldn't really hear it. Is the whine always pretty loud or did something need to be done after? Thanks in advance!
@abou8242 жыл бұрын
On my 2.0 it's very loud. The amount of noise depends on your intake type. Stock intake or afe Takeda intake really muffle it. My corksport Sri makes it super loud. You can hear it on a cold start and whenever you rev it. This vid was on the stock tune so it wasn't as noticable as it is now.
