While this video shows how busy Skye can get with vans, please bear in mind this was August (school holiday time) and these are the areas of significant interest being the iconic Old Man of Storr & Duntulim Castle 🏰 Don’t let it put you off going, there are plenty of areas on the island that aren’t as busy! 👌

@@vansforthememories we don’t, we usually get a cottage to stay in up in the highlands as we are new to Caravanning. Tempted to do the long (scary) trip next year hopefully

@@heyholetstow it will certainly be an adventure, look out for the next video, it’s a campsite on Skye. Although, I have to say, unless you want to do lots of driving, Torvaig Campsite in Portree is your best bet 😎 Em💛

Even in winter it was still quite busy at the Old Man of Storr. Skye is still a beautiful place though and definitely a place to visit at least once. We need to get back to Scotland when we can.

So busy! Unbelievable! Nice to see the awesome scenery in the Summer though. Skye is amazing. I miss being there. Like a different place when it’s so busy though. Quite stressful finding a Parkup by the looks of it. The cake looked gorgeous. Shame they don’t open in winter 🤣😋 xx

Hi both 😎 Yes it was busy beyond busy! We didn’t wild camp, we stayed at a campsite in Staffin. our little bolt hole at Broadford (you know where I mean🤫) has a sign up now from the residents asking not to overnight there. I’m hoping they will remove that through the winter as I can only think it was perhaps the sheer volume of vans. I’ll let you know soon enough 😊 The cake was delicious & they cater for vegans too! That’s a shame, it never used to be this busy with vans tbh. Luckily, we know the places to go where the crowds don’t go 👌 (we haven’t filmed that for this reason) 😊 The MH service point at the storr, is in such a stupid place, it’s a good idea but unusable in summer. @@vansforthememories Yes it was not the atrocious parking or lack of park ups we have a few that folk don't know. Lindsay was subjected to abuse by a woman in Dunvegan Castle shop because she asked a straightforward question. Customer service is not what it should be these days,

Hi Both x Well that brought back some treasured memories of my 6 months last winter on Skye Amazing to see it with blue skies 🤪 and lush summer colours x Did not like the White summer invasion though LOL 🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐 But I presume its mainly in the hot tourist spots ehh ! Crazy to think I had the place more or less to myself on my stay in winter Many locals told me thay hate June to Sept due to the bedlam of tourists and vans !
