In this episode, you catch up with us as we leave Morvich CAMC site and head over to the Isle Of Skye. We spend a night at Skye CCC site at Edinbane, before heading back to a wildcamping spot we have stayed at before. Unfortunately, we had to move from here is a hurry due to dangerous drivers! We end up struggling to find a new wild camping spot as its very busy, but we do enjoy a beautiful moonlit drive on the island. Every cloud has a silver lining, I guess! We unfortunately, stumble on a motorhome that has come off the road and crashed into the embankment. We stop and make sure the couple are ok and if they need any help or us to call anyone. We finally find an empty layby except for one other car camper to stay in for the night, where we had a peaceful night. Filmed in July of 2023, we leave home with no plan on where we are going, watch the rest of the series to follow our travels on this epic adventure full of ups and downs. This campervan allows us the freedom of travelling in all seasons, we actually do most of our travelling in the Autumn/Winter as I have lupus disease | SLE | We stay on campsites & caravan touring parks, Aires & wild camp out in nature. We like to walk | hike with our cocker spaniel dog "Charlie" taking in breathtaking scenery of the countryside and the coast. There is something so magical about driving through the mountains and tourist areas in a campervan. Buying local produce to take back and cook in the campervan, or stopping at an independent shop for coffee and cake helping to support the local economy. It doesn’t happen often, we were unlucky. Ironically, it’s on the same road as the campsite, so we would’ve heard them there too, but would have been safer from getting hit. As we were out for a month, we had to do some wild camps to keep costs down and most places up there are totally safe 😁 It certainly is beautiful scenery against the moonlight 😎 Thanks, Em 💜

Highlights included Coniston Water (wow!), Bala in North Wales, Hereford, Warwick (our base for the Motorhome Show at the NEC - didn’t see a van we’d rather have than the Fifer!) and Tintagel on the North Cornwall coast before arriving home 👍 Looking forward to getting away again soon 🤞

About a 1400 mile round trip I think…we’d had the NEC tickets booked for quite a while tbh, and the main reason for going now that we have the van was to look at ‘stuff’ for the van. It was a bit difficult though, we had to do it in relay because of Hetty (our border terrier) 🙄

morning, em! the solo laundry trip. 🤭glad this was all in the past, but oh noooo! having to up and move in the middle of your evening, being july and all. sorry you passed a good spot, but it led to a beautiful drive for us to watch. (great music choice during it!) well, up until those poor people and their rig. good things help was on the way. the people who met us in nebraska, their camper got 2 flat tires on the way there and 1 on the way back. 😭your drive sure got beautiful again after that. i'd be picky about wildcamping spots too. your convos during that time with gary remind me of me and the mr. 😉while it has its ups and downs (literally and figuratively, eh?), i love the wild camping experiences. enough of my babbling. 🤣 this is what happens when i watch on the tv and the computer simultaneously so i can comment as it goes. 🛴❤

Well that was rather eventful!! Tough to try and find a wild camp at that time of night in peak times. But it was ok in the end. Does the Slichaghan Hotel let you stay there Em? Desperate shame for the Motorhome in the ditch A tense one that but hopefully you could recharge yourselves and the equipment at Edinbane. Hope you guys are doing well 👍👍

Hi 👋 Yes it was a bit tricky without going off the beaten track ☺️ There was 🚐 vans in the Slig car park, so assuming so but it’s usually a case of eating in the restaurant, but it was gone 11.30pm at that point, hence why we didn’t try & stay (it was also too busy). There is a campsite opposite The Slig Hotel, but again it was much too late for us to be able to have got on there (it’s gated) The couple from the Moho were fine luckily & had taken it all in their stride. Must have been s terrible blight on their holiday though, bless them. Yes it was eventful, sometimes it just happens like that. 😄 We are good thank you & hope you are too! Em 💜

Those poor people in that motorhome. It must have been so scary for them. Glad you got a park up. Sometimes you just have to park where you can. Some people are disgusting and have no respect for the environment they're staying in. We've had people having a wee right outside our motorhome and we've thought the same that we could have kids in the van and they shouldn't be doing it anyway. We had a woman do it once. Tramps.

@@vansforthememories I'm only just finally getting better from the shingles (it's dragged on for a couople of months) and I've got a load of jobs to do in the family beach hut plus sorting my late Mom's house, so I've reluctantly taken the camper off the truck for the winter. It will be back in camper mode as soon as we get back from our family holiday over Feb half term and I intend to spend at least one week every month in it plus an extended tour f the inner Hebrides.
