@johnossendorf99793 ай бұрын
Truck should not be lowered ! Lowering a 4×4 is a sin (get a Subaru or Audi) ! Trucks should be available with manual 6 or more speed transmissions and 16 inch steel wheels ! All trucks should be available with a selection of traction adding differentials, limited slips, automatic locking and selectable locking units from the factory. I don't want to spend any money on a slushbox (no matter how many speeds of slush) or an infotainment system. Yes I'm old fashioned 😅
@robertpulliam41523 ай бұрын
@@johnossendorf9979a modern automatic is better in almost every way than a manual. The fact you call a modern auto a "slush box" shows how out of touch you are. One advantage now is that a manual REALLY IS A THEFT DETERRENT 🤣😂🤣😂. You are not wrong Slushbox is 1950's drag racing slang I learned from my father. I know you will grown but, you can't pop start an automatic by rolling it down a slight incline tword the parking lot drain. For people looking to buy one for the sole fact it has a “warranty”. Just know it’s not a matter of if but when your engine will melt a piston/ have bottom end failure if you keep the catalytic converters installed. It only takes 2 back to back pulls in a whipple truck for cat temp to exceed 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. All the failures I’ve seen from whipple trucks with conservative pulleys (“4.0 “3.875 “3.75) have been whipple tuned and stock cats still installed so that they can maintain their warranty. You will be coming out of pocket be it a few grand or even more when the engine fails. Best advice if you want a whipple truck, go catless, run e85 (with proper fuel system), and get a good tuner. If you are whipple tuned and “warrantied” you will be just as fast as a bolt on /tuned 4x4 truck anyway since you are limited to 105 mph (which will only have you getting a mid 12 et 1/4 mile roughly) Everyone saying they need upgraded oil pump gears. Stop regurgitating everything you think you know. 2021+ f150 gen 4 yotes are internal belt driven (Kevlar) oil pumps. The mustangs didn’t get these gen 4 coyotes until this year model (2024) so the confusion is understandable.
@RadDadisRad3 ай бұрын
Not a full warranty. This is a Whipple warranty and it only covers the engine. 2nd I just turned over 13k miles on my 2023 and am now on my *_3rd engine, 3rd supercharger and 3rd set of cats_* buyer beware.
@xInline63 ай бұрын
i say screw the warranty at that point and go ahead and look for a tuner. it’s probably the *oil pump gears failing the engines, idk why the whipple would give you issues, and the cats are probably getting too hot. a tune, billet *oil pump gears, the whipple and headers and you’ll easily have a 800 whp street truck. sorry about your luck man hopefully it all gets figured out!

Ive been wanting to buy a base model F150 5.0 since 2018 and do the 650-700hp Roush/Ford Racing blower, I came close to doing it on a Reg cab long bed 2wd XL I found a deal on for $26k. Its really cool to see someone doing it. I have had 3 Mustang GTs('05,'10,'11) and a 2011 F150 5.0. I used to be a crazy Ford fanboy. Got my start with 4.6L 2Vs when I was a teenager and that was all I could afford to buy and insure with my own money, I had 7 4.6L 2Vs and a GT40P 5.0 before I finally got a 4.6L 3V then I bought two Coyote 5.0 vehicles new in 2011. Latley I have been playing with old 351W based engines, my day is a '94 RCLB 2Wd F250 393w AFR heads, Lightining lower, Explorer upper, 70mm TB, Cobra MAF, Doug's stainless long tubes meant for a Lightining or Bronco, 1.6 rockers, 5.0 HO cam, 3.5" diesel stainless single exhaust, built ZF-5 S42 manual trans, just a very streetable high tq build that is meant to be tons of fun and very reliable to tow and haul things. Probably had 350-400hp, 450-500tq. I want to really open it up and make it a long travel suspension beam kit truck. Big cam, single plane, Holley Sniper, possibibly build an extra 351w roller block in my yard up to 408-434ci, port the AFRs, run some ported 210cc Speedmasters or step up to some big time TFS 11Rs 190 or 205cc for 600+hp. The Coyote game seems kind of pointless to me know that the 7.3 Godzilla exists. I would have done this build with an F250 Reg cab long bed 2wd 6.8/7.3 Godzilla with a dealer installed blower kit. Shame they are using that stupid 10spd instead of the old 6R80 and 6R140 those transmissions had way less to go wrong and were proven. Brian Wolfe made 626hp 646tq with a basic little Truck Norris cam and springs in a dingle ball'd 7.3 that was scrapped due to lifter failure. With some head porting, a huge cam+ valvetrain and a stroker kit upto 4.250" bore 4.6" stroke at 522ci the 7.3 should be an easy 700-750hp N/A engine. Stock internals they're making over 1000hp on boost already. I think the move would be to take a 6.5' bed from a wrecked Super Duty and shorten the frame on a Regular Cab to fit it then go crazy on the power.

Then my buddy let me try his car out. I immediately flipped my Ford hater coin....I understood the hype. (Very) shortly after I had a nice 88 regatta blue LX 5.0 no-option coupe with the weird blue interior, but with the 5 speed. Even with ridiculous 2.73 gearing I'd beat my buddy in his Firebird GTA with a 350, 9 times out of 10. Yeah his car was more luxurious and handled better, but even sitting still at a light you could hear the GM squeaks and noises. It's a shame we'll never have a cheap, no option barebones, V8 pony car again. To think that you could buy one of these brand new off the showroom floor well under $20,000 is crazy! Low 14s certainly isn't quick these days, but mid/late 80s, they ruled the streets (with a few more expensive exceptions) If you got the launch right they'd run door to door with any 350 Iroc/GTA, Grand National (NOT GNX!) - and even the C4 vettes...until they refreshed them with the LT-1 around 92/93? But for the money nothing can touch them

These single cab short bed F150’s are quick with the Nano 2.7 Ecoboost… I can’t imagine how brutal this thing is with a supercharged Coyote.
@PerformanceOnWheels3 ай бұрын
It’s definitely no joke
@mordy20853 ай бұрын
Well coyote is prob the best v8 rn, some simple upgrade boost can very easily go up to 800+

Put a 2.9 Whipple on my '08 Challenger SRT 6.1. Definitely the biggest bang for the buck.

Can I get this with a long bed? I still have to fit stuff in the bed.

Absolutely

How long will the transmission last? The standard transmission is not rated for that power...good luck.

Almost went to your dealership. Went to Johnson Ford. In new Richmond WI instead. Bought a 2024 lariat.. my old2020 with a tune only did 4.9 seconds with the 3.5l ecoboost! Zero issues with that truck. Waiting for the tune to come out for my 24. Maybe I will step up to the 850hp game?? Or 1000 hp?? Not sure yet.
@pathunter7003Ай бұрын
Should have got a better tune on that 3.5, they will go much faster than your times

Wow! Cheaper than a old Viper! Cheaper than a Shelby Mustang!

$70 a tire? This dude is baked
@PerformanceOnWheelsАй бұрын
Nope, I’m sure not! Here’s a pair of rears that would fit this truck for $144! They would last you a couple months to screw around and burn off and onto the next. amzn.to/3UaKZNL

I wanna see this against the new Mustang, it’ll beat the new Mustang but what about like the GT500 that 4wd will help with traction
@PerformanceOnWheels3 ай бұрын
If the gt500 could hook it would blow this things doors off. The DCT and weight loss would stand no match.

How's the leg room in these regular cabs? I'm tall at 6'3. Was wondering what the leg positions would be like and if it would be comfortable

I can tell you from experience even with just the 5.0 the brakes of the truck are really not up to the task of highspeed braking, they fade very quickly and aren't sufficient for even that power levels so this thing would be a death trap without a serious brake upgrade, but besides that pretty great truck.
@pathunter7003Ай бұрын
So what you are saying is that it’s harder to stop at 100 mph with a whipple than it is to stop at 100 mph with a stock five oh?
@denalidriven15743 ай бұрын
FYI. lol we do transmissions in these after builds and Shelby’s the stock trans and dif can’t handle it at all
@thomaswaldorf91413 ай бұрын
There is no way i will ever spend that much money on a truck. You could have a very nice custom truck built for that price. It would be alot more dependible that any New truck you could buy.
