DRIVING THE CLASSIC MINI 850 | Highway Countryside & Urban | 4K POV DRIVE in 2024

DRIVER'S VIEW in a Classic Mini. Driving on COUNTRYSIDE ROADS, CITY and FAST HIGHWAY.
The car is an AUTHI MINI 850 DE LUXE built by Leyland-AUTHI in Landaben (Navarra, Spain) in 1973. Although it has received small improvements and touch-ups, it remains basically in its original factory condition. As seen in the video, a vintage SMITHS tachometer, standard on other models of the brand, has been added to the dashboard.
A very fun classic car to drive, easy to fix and also cheap to buy and to run.
This MINI maintains its 4 original drum brakes, which together with a brake booster and a valve to maintain pressure in the brake line (typical for its time), are 100% efficient for this very light car, as long as the hydraulic system is kept in good condition and brake shoes are properly adjusted.
The SOUND of the CLASSIC MINI is quite peculiar. The engine was always quite loud in this microcar, which also reaches very high revolutions compared to a current car. It is one of the most used engines in the history of the automobile, both by AUSTIN, MORRIS, ROVER models and even modified by HONDA, from the 50s to the year 2000.
This engine with different displacements was used in all models manufactured by AUTHI between 1966 and 1975:

Suena muy bien para ser un sencillo 850 o mejor dicho para ser un sencillo Mini en general. Se transmite muy bien la sensación al conducirlo y aquí es donde te das cuenta de que tenemos muy buenas carreteras para rodar nuestros clásicos alejados del tráfico diario
