oh my gosh, no way would I have gone up that steep road, especially with it being so wet and streams crossing it as well, your right, "Balls of Steel", hell I was nervous like I was there lol. Be safe!

@@EmmaGoldman1312 haha if we could do it with this van, you can do it too! Otherwise there are vans going up and down everyday that can take you with them. Really fun to hike in the area!

Which road you took to get to Mestia? I am planning to Travel end of May from Kutaisi to Mestia so I am wondering if the road is all paved or no? Will I need a 4x4?

The road to Mestia is quite easy, most of the road is paved. The campervan we drove around was huge and was not a 4x4, so you'll be alright! If you're planning to drive to Ushguli, you should ask around because that depends a lot on the weather. Good luck and enjoy your road trip, it's beautiful!
