The yxz is 1,521 lbs and the Honda is 1,545... They are almost identical.

@@BourbonJunkies Weight still matters.. they both put about the same stock HP to the RW, so add the same size turbo and the YXZ will be still faster.. Sure add a bigger turbo to either machine and it will have more power. I mean there is logical look at the machine and then their is fanboyz.

@@wraith511802003 I'm not a fanboy of either company. I own an x3 and won't be selling to buy from either company we are talking about. If the drivers of each machine differ more than 20 lbs the machines can weigh the same. You need to look beyond weight + power numbers. A lot of other things come into play, gearing, efficiency of the drivetrain, rotational mass vs. static weight, traction... The yxz could be 20 lbs lighter but if that 20 lbs is all in the tires and wheels it could be slower. There's a lot more to it than those two things... Yamaha needs to innovate the machine, it's old, that's a fact.

I think this is the smarter approach. You're gonna spend more on the turbo car over na. Just make all the cars upgradeable so its not an upfront expense and you don't have to trade up to get the turby when you're ready for it. Since it's a honda it should be the only unit you ever need.

X3 ha a wider stance(BIG plus), lacks the FUGLY factor, and 2020 X3 will have 195HP right off the showroom floor, and will be cheaper than a Talon+turbo kit, and will maintain the factory warranty.

I have a turbo razor and a older ace at times I take out my ace but it's always with someone else riding with me. Safety first and never go riding alone. Have fun out there but be safe.

I like how it sounds nice and quiet in the cab! Or at least it sounds quiet at full song. The one thing I HATE about my x3 is the cabin/clutch noise in the cab is silly loud and am deaf after a ride, even with a helmet. The older I get the more I hate obnoxiously loud machines. Props to Honda.

Wow! Just, WOW! Honda has really changed the game now. This, coupled with the release of the 4-seater, and more importantly, the announcement that Honda will be fielding a Talon race team next year, truly sets the bar at another level. I'm not a Honda fanboy (although I do have a new Talon 1000X), but honestly, Polaris, Can Am, Yamaha, AC? Are you guys watching? Honda has been racing turbo vehicles longer than Polaris. Honda is a massive automotive engineering group that has been around and massively diversified for a very long time! These guys know more on accident then Polaris or my fav, Can-am in the automotive engineering department! Not like Chevy, Ford, or Dodge makes off Road motorcycles. If they decided to it would probably be pretty good, other than cutting teeth in a new genre. However, Honda has been in it for a long time! Honda thought 2 strokes were stupid, but has lead the way in that area for a long time!

@@trishdelaney1075, not to mention their experience and prowess where DCT is concerned. And that is, in my opinion, the game-changing aspect of Honda's unveiling of the turbo option. To Paul Ursini above, of course other companies have done turbocharging, but none have mated it to a DCT gearbox - at least none in the sxs category. And, where DCT is concerned, Honda has absolutely no equal in the powersport world. I believe DCT is the most revolutionary thing that Honda brings to offroading. Time will tell whether it holds up. But, knowing Honda's reputation, I'm betting it will. Steve

@@trishdelaney1075 Honda is quality, reliable and makes great products no one is debating that. Currently in the "side-by-side market" Polaris is the king. You can buy a turbo xp for $18000. Their ride command system and dynamix suspension alone blows every other manufacture out of the water currently. The Talon Is a solid machine however it's laughable compared to the Turbo S. A Talon with the turbo add on will cost nearly $30000 out the door. That's Ridiculous for machine that cant hang with a Turbo S on any level.

Honda has always been on point. I was actually surprised that they didn't come right out with a turbo version. My first impression was, they were waayyy behind Polaris and Can-am. Suspension, power, basically everything. Be interesting to see how it plays out. Will the stock drivetrain take it? What good is 62+ more hp if you are going to be breaking everything? 60% is a pretty huge increase. Otherwise, great video guys.

Hopefully this is just a bandaid until they offer a Talon Turbo model from the factory. This is pretty sweet though. The gear driven trans is a huge win IMO. This machine sounds better than other machines too. Can’t wait to see more dual clutch transmissions.

Honda did not come with the turbo, aftermarket company did and it basically takes away warranty. Honda rep even stated it would. Glad Honda is stepping up the game, but still not a factory turbo which is a minus for lots of people. Honda is making big swings and this can only make others step up big (YXZ, Wildcat) and see what happens. Exciting time if you are into this hobby. Just for all the people that are going to say I am a hater, I own the Talon R and love it. Ready to install a turbo.

When I went down to the Honda Dealer to buy a Turbo for a Honda Talon I about fell over when they said $6,000. I stuck my $2500 back in my pocket. I remember when I payed $6k for a STS Turbo on my 2004 Ram 1500 HEMI 4X4. I don't know what Jackson Racing is smoking or Drinking but maybe they should sell that instead.

I’m conflicted with the talon. Seeing it in person at the SXSBlog race day. I was impressed. I guess the only thing I have a issue with would be the cost of the kit. I got my rzr turbo for $19k out the door. Which left me a lot of money to play with to build the machine I wanted. (Compared to the turbo s ) to have to buy a turbo kit for Lets just say $3k puts it on the higher end of the spectrum. To get about the same power as the rzr stock. Now I went to SXSBlog parts (shameless plug lol ) and got all types of power adders and other stuff for that same money, to me they need to come out with a factory turbo machine before it will be considered a contender, I will say they are on the right track and are light years ahead of cars like the xx. Good stuff guys.

Just the shocks and the brain to control them you couldn’t go out and buy for under $6k Not defending the price points!! Rodney Duran I can assure you, as I own a 2016 Pioneer that the reliability is there. A first gen ANYTHING will have issues, and I believe Honda has bent over backwards to get them ironed out. I’ll stand by my comment. Honda anything will be more reliable than a can am.

I now Have a 2015 Ram 1500 with a Arrington turbo and it cost $6K also. This turbo for the Honda Talon better put out a lot more HP than just 60% for $6. It needs to be more like 160 % more power for that insane price. What a joke.
