I grew up on the rim. Show Low is my home town. I live in Payson now. I feel blessed to have this gorgeous and wild area as my playground. Thank You.

Any Melon Head encounters?!

@@georgedorame909 Not that sort of oddity but I've seen what might have been a bigfoot and many other people have seen the same thing. Being as there are no known bipedal animals wondering about there it seems other than a black bear walking for a rather long time on it's hind legs it could be real.

Love that area it’s a shame to see all the pines burnt down but I was driving on it last month and noticed a lot of oak trees which will completely change the eco system ! You will end up with lots of turkeys in those areas ! I partied a lot out on that road when I was in high school had some great times with friends I still have after 40 years

i would just love to make a good point here. The need to drive fast on this road is like the need to chase porqupine's. No need to drive fast we all are slow movers here for the love of the scenery.

Very true. We normally just pull over and let 'em blow on by.
