Call me crazy but the Toyota dealer called and said they had two 2025 GR Corolla just off the truck. So I went over for a test ride in the 25 GR Premium with DAT. It was so much better than my 24GRC manual that I now am the proud owner of a Red GRC Premium DAT. Wish I could afford to ship it over to you so you could drive me around the track.

Damn, impressive lap but the temps were too high it went to 2WD mode I thought with the aero improvements it would be a different story but still you have to put aftermarket things to make it cooler 😢
@mr2marc4 ай бұрын
it never went to 2wd mode. that message still means AWD. it's when it says "2wd engaged" when it actually goes to 2wd mode. the one on their screen "switching to 2wd" is just a warning that if you do keep going, it'll switch to 2wd. he could have probably gone for another lap before it finally goes to 2wd.

Toyota if your gunna keep making this GR, please just fix the damn differential overheating issue once an for all!!!!!

It’s probably overheating due to the wider tyres and the two extra people in the back as well

Try to wrap the exhaust with the exhaust heat tape in the rear section, it works pretty good.
@luisrobertodelarosadecena9784 ай бұрын
This model prioritizes front-wheel drive more, taking effort away from the rear, where the ratio is 60/40, 53/47 and one (60/40, 30/70) automatically variable. to limit the heating of the rear differential by eliminating the exclusivity of the 30/70 or is the overheating problem of this model?

Manual MK1, Auto MK2. Just because the Auto is the most differentiating factor of the MK2.

E que tal a caixa automática? Um abraço
@GreatMotors4 ай бұрын
Bastante boa.

Nice lap, looks like you gave passengers a decent scare :D That was a lot of rubbing through the Karussell, too wide tyres?
@GreatMotors4 ай бұрын
I didn't realize it was being that stressful for the passengers when I did the lap. Afterwards he told me "maybe too much send", and now that I watch the video... yeah I can see that. Tires are too wide for stock suspension and setup. Needs more camber and stiffer springs (at least) in order not to rub.

the up shift seems not fast enough as they claim. the paddle shifter little bit delay. not fast as we expected
@GreatMotors4 ай бұрын
You can see my hands in the video, and also hear the clicks from the paddles. I found it quite fast, definitely not disturbing on the racetrack (on the contrary). Having driven the G80 M3 Touring, and the G87 M2, which have automatic boxes that are taken as "one of the fastest on the market", I can tell you that this one from Toyota is at least on par with them. Actually the Toyota box deals better with gear changes close to the redline... where the BMW box shows a big big delay.
