That torsion bar setup actually did well on paved short circle stock car tracks. They'd tighten up the one on the right in the factory hot 340 darts and often beat the 455s etc.

They had Carter carbs

Holley carbs?? I thought they used Carter Thermoquads on the street Hemi's. The only one's that used Holley's were the race Hemi's.
@livewire27597 жыл бұрын
Definitely Carters, but were they thermoquads or AFBs? Either way If I had a Hemi I'd put a pair of holleys on it. The AFBs weren't bad, but the thermoquads were junk.
@chrisnizer18857 жыл бұрын
+Live Wire AFB's...my bad. They definitely used AFB's.
@joequillun77906 жыл бұрын
Thermoquads were spread bores, and as far as I know, no-one ever used them as dual quads. Also they were a carb. for the low compression Mopar rmotors. When tuned right, they could work well. I myself would love to have an aftermarket TQ, (1000 CFMs) for my RAIV intake manifold.
