In this video I show you my top car rental tips, tricks and hacks to save money in Mexico and all over the world. We will use the car to travel through Baja California Sur stopping in Todos Santos on the way to La Paz, Mexico.

Just a clarification for the viewers here, the highway to La Paz is actually free, the amount you pay is only from the airport to the exit of Cabo, in case you want to avoid all the San Jose - Los Cabos road, which actually saves you almost an hour.

These are great tips. You can also get get the benefits of a mastercard credit card as well as visa. I just got mine. I do have a question, how much was the TPL insurance for your 9 days?

What about the security deposit? I hear some places hold $2,000 for a deposit.

Yeah it was something around there, maybe less, but I can't remember exactly. But you're going to place a deposit wherever you rent anywhere in the world. But I hear you, $2K is a bit high and like I said I can't remember if it was that high. I always take 5 or 10 minutes to take photos and videos of the car inside and out before driving it for peace of mind. When I returned the car the guys were nice and normal and spent about 30 seconds checking for damage. It was fine. Good luck and thanks for watching.
