tofino receives more than 3 metres of rain a year, a little further south henderson lake (Hucuktlis Lake) is the wettest place in north america with a record of over 9 metres. it's temperate rainforest, it's a worry when it doesn't rain for extended periods of time which has been happening more frequently in summers. last year there was even a forest fire near henderson lake which is disturbing.

haha... good to know! Not too bad for a car, but the van makes things more exciting! Thankfully we had been warned not to travel at night... The google doesn't give you an accurate view of things. 20 years back it must have been pretty treacherous. I hear the snow blocks the road as well?
