Thank you for the comments. I felt so fortunate to work with all the contributors in the short documentary. For all those learning to drive, keep going ! I have dyslexia and dyspraxia, I passed in a manual but I drive an automatic now. Disability does not mean inability!

I am 54 years old and will be learning how to drive once I head back in America. I've suffered with the same disabiity for decades. Despite past frustrations, I am now more determned than ever. Awesome video and thanks for sharing.

There is one more thing that dyslexic people dont really like to accept and express....that sometimes we get so panicked that we forget to recall the path to our destination. and because of the panic we cant focus on the road and eventually are not able to remember the roads, which is why we have to travel 5-10 times the same path just so we can practice the number, distance and position of the turns (just like reading ). P.S.-we are the worst person to ask for directions XD

Hi, thank you for this I have dyslexia and probably dyspraxia as well because I have difficulty to learn swim and drive a bicycle as a driving a car. I have no idea that dyslexia can be a problem with this. I have a driving license but didn't drive for more than 10 years now. Getting my driven license was one of the most difficult things I ever do and the horrible Car assh*le instructor doesn't make things easier. Stress and anxiety are really obstacles in driving. I try driving again maybe take some condition lesson. Happy driving! Greetings from Europe!

With my dyslexia, when I talk to my instructor or if she talks to me and I respond to her I always seem to make mistakes 😢😢😢 and I sometimes forget which pedal is the brake and the gas even tho I am learning in an automatic car 😢😢😢 I seem to panic a lot when I do something wrong 😢😢😢 I hesitate when I get to roundabouts sometimes 😢😢😢 before I had my driving test yesterday, when I was at home, I thought I was going to faint because of my stress and how super anxious I was about the test, my breathing was shaky and I was shaking a bit myself as well. Then when I was practicing before the test, I almost had a panic attack because I was messing everything up but then in my test I felt quite chill because I didn’t have my instructor with me and the examiner was talking quite calmly and it wasn’t stressing me out but what was stressing me out was when I forgot to use my indicator and stuff like that and another thing that was stressing me out was what results was gonna come out as which was a fail because I only had 1 major and Ik people who aren’t me think that it’s really good, but to me in my head it wasn’t great cuz Ik I should have done something to avoid that 1 major and I keep beating myself up about it saying it’s all my fault not looking at the lanes and everything and I keep saying to myself that if I didn’t have that 1 major, I would have passed. I also find it hard centralising the car in the middle of the lane as well which also stresses me out cuz when my instructor keeps saying to me “keep in the middle of your lane” or “stay in your lane” it makes me panic and it makes me think that I won’t be able to ever pass my test even tho she does know that I am very capable of passsing but it’s just the silly mistakes I do and I totally agree with what she means by that x

Hi Amy not sure where you’re based but John is based in the Dorset area. He may have contacts if you’re not local to Dorset (unsure but worth an ask). His website is drivingincludesu.co.uk Driving can feel very overwhelming - I’ve been in the same position. For me personally the auto really helps with my nerves. I learnt in manual but now drive an auto. Might be good to start in auto and if you’re comfortable move to manual

“This is what the eye movements of a dyslexic may look like” me: that’s not what most people do?? Also where are these specialist coaches im in Birmingham UK, and if I could have a teacher who’s well educated in dyslexia and know what dyspraxia even is. My issue is my vebal intelligence and general intelligence is wel above average (within superior range). So I don’t come across as learning disabled I come across as highly capable. So when I struggle people always think I’m just not trying hard enough
