What they don’t tell you about the HUD is it gives you navigation if you’re using the Hyundai Nav and tells you the speed limit of most streets you are on. Also tells you when someone is in your blind spot.

Muffler off and put a glass pack. use a cone or Spctre inline air cleaner. Catch can for sure. Took a spring out of gas pedal. There are 2 springs leave thinner spring tak fat one out recal pedal to get rid of dead spot.

I think you are selling your self short, I am 40 have a wife and two girls 10 and 12. I daily drive a 2016 BRZ and I have never heard someone say that’s a 20 somethings car! Most people say wow! What kind of car is that... and no I don’t race anywhere around town.

I totally agree with fourtrax and acuravigor47! I am 49 and drives a 2018 WRX. Who cares about the image? There is an older gentleman, maybe in his 60s, who he drives a red 2017 type R. I think it's awesome that we do what we want and the younger guys look at us and gives us the thumbs up. Enjoy life and drive what you want and can afford. I love driving my WRX, a car I could not afford 16 years ago while raising my son.

I could just hit the dislike button and leave this video but what good would that do you? Here is my advice, when you are reviewing a car, do not make it about you personally. Unless you have the wit of Jeremy Clarkson, do not hate on cars for personal reasons. With all due respect, not a lot people care if you think that it looks goofy for a 40 year old and many 40 year olds want to feel like they are in their 20s.

More headroom in the R spec, no sunroof. Average height for males in US is 5'10" @ 175lbs. You're actually on the larger side :-). I don't agree on won't age well. The new Veloster looks similar to the old, It's an evolution. You know what it is as soon as you see one (just like old). I also don't agree on age demographic. 47, 4 grown kids & 3 grandchildren. I'd buy this in a heartbeat. Well, N is what I'm eyeing.

Rick Raible I get it. I'll probably go with the non N. Eyeing just don't need. I wouldn't get to use the track/performance upgrades often honestly. I work to darn much. We will see once its released. Maybe just the base N @250 hp, not sure. Oh, Hyundai is advertising this fall for release not 2019 like mentioned in video. I know it's out in Korea already.

That will be cool if they release it in the fall. I am looking to buy in October/November (assuming no tariffs on Korean products). When they release the N, maybe the incentives will increase or they will come off MSRP more. I'm not sure how people are saying this isn't a good value prop. The Mazda3 is a totally different ride (but admittedly 3k cheaper), the Forte5 could compete when it comes out (it will be interesting to see), the Si is definitely more feature packed for $1k more than the R-Spec, but how much will a 2yr extended warranty cost to match Hyundais? (also, totally don't want a coupe). Elantra GT Sport is just a shade more expensive - no stereo upgrade for stick. Fiesta/Focus - Reliability Issues, end of life. How much will parts be in 5 years. GTI? - Loaded up it's 4k more still. There are several good choices, but the veloster is right in there. I like that it isn't a coupe, isn't a sedan.

as a GTI owner who also tried the 1st gen Veloster, glad to see they made some much needed improvements. interesting to see we have the same feelings about compartment size as a 6'1" man. but don't sell yourself short on looks/age, i've seen plenty of older folks here in Cali driving Velosters.

Some reviewers seem like they don't take into account that the models of VW Golf and Honda Civic they mention are well over 30k, where this car can be had for 25-26k.

So you know scion brand was for the youth when the surveys said most of the buyers were from 40-60 years old. So cars when you say it's for the youth it's for people who like something fun. For what ever demographic who likes the vehicle. Younger people aren't buying feraris or Mustang gt 350.

This guy is definitely biased toward the Civic which is no big surprise. I’m 41 and drive a 2013 Veloster which I absolutely love. Also, the Veloster isn’t as small as this guy would have you think. I’m 5’11 and have plenty of room.

Not to take away from your car, but the new Civic is excellent. If you haven't driven it you might be in for a surprise. The Si even comes with adaptive dampers. Also, 3-inches in height is pretty significant when talking about interior head space. To make it more complicated, you may also have a slightly longer legs than torso. I'm mostly split between legs and torso, which makes headroom more of a potential issue. I also have a problem with the Toyota Tacoma and not everyone complains about that. -RD

Really hate that 'too old for x car' mentality. It's a 1.6l Turbo that only puts out 201 hp and it has decent gas mileage. You can definitely fit two kids and your wife in it and while its design elements are not as reserved as others it definitely isn't extravagant either.

Dude, what is your deal? 1) Stop bashing yourself for your age equating to not driving a car like this. I'm a 42 year old woman with 2 kids, a mortgage and another car note on a TC. 3 days ago I just bought the Turbo Ultimate in white and black. Age is not a number, it's your mentality, and the way you're approaching that subject in this video is quite negative. 2) You're complaining about head room... did you even adjust the side lever on the side of the seat to lower it? Did you adjust the steering wheel to your comfort? I'm 5'9 and had to do all of this to fit in it nicely. You're giving off the impression to potential buyers that the car is too cramped and not adjustable. Other than those two things, good review. I am surfing all the reviews so I can learn more about my car and this one was helpful as well.

I have the car and all imma say is you didn't even come close to showing its full potential and it sounds pretty good stock you get a muffler delete and dale. But I agree with you anyone over 6 ft is gonna get a hunch from sitting back there.

As another mid-40 guy, I don't like the V! because of the lack of practicality and the overall design. Although the look of the rear and sides are decent, the front is dull and mundane. As a toy car or third car, it would be alright, not the 1st choice though. Overall, I agree with Ryan.

This wasn't made to compete with the GTI, the Veloster N was. The i30N already spanks the GTI so....wait a few months and the Veloster N will be walking all over current gen GTI's. Not bad for Hyundai's first true performance hot hatch if you ask me.

look at the touring car racing (TCR) world wide. RS3 GTI and the TypeR cant hang with the i30N, which the i30N has the same specs with the Veloster N. it was only the hyundai racing team that ran the N last season and look a the TCR now.. so many teams jumping on to the N.

Alex...If the Korean price is any help, it'll top out fully loaded for about 33K. The Civic R starts at 35.6K. But you'd never actually get one for that price. There's a pretty good mark up on it.

The i30N is priced slightly under a GTI in many countries already. It's fair to say that the base N will start roughly under the turbo ultimate, which is 28.9.

to my understanding, the N doesn't have any of the safety and tech features like the Ultimate does. only thing you get from the ultimate on the N is the infinity sound systems. other than that, bad ass engine e-LSD, 6 speed manual, racing seats and a steering wheel! it shouldnt be at 35K maybe around 32..32.5K at max? its just a stripped out car that you can enjoy.

Hyundank...I don't know about the US version, but the one being sold here in Korea has all of those safety features as standard. However, the car is also more expensive here than what the US will pay.

acuravigor47...The Mustang Gt starts at 40K, and that's without any options. The Veloster R Spec is about 23k, nicely equipped. These are not really the same kind of car either.
