It works 100%. I followed these instructions (fasting) for almost two years and I achieved the goal that I had never thought about it. I had pre diabetes two years ago and now I don’t even think about it. Lost 52 lbs, got the best blood pressure and sleep like baby. I just do fasting, no medicine no doctor and no appointments. Once the body is fat adapted and used to fasting comfortably, you become liberated from the need to eat at specific times. So when traveling, or away from home and “good food” isn’t available or the event you’re attending is serving crap, you can comfortably skip eating. It is liberating. No longer a prisoner of the need to feed.

Sure it works, I lost 75 pounds in 13 months, and I am still losing. BMI from 33.5 to 22.9. Also went from XL and XXL shirts to medium and 38 waist to 32 waist. Couldn't be happier and now have enough energy to actually go to the gym and work on my remaining normal weight obesity. Mostly one meal a day, but if I ever have a day where my weight loss is minimal I push it to 48 hrs. I do have to stick to low carb, because if I don't the triggers to overeat are overwhelming. My internist is still not on board even with the obvious results, as well as normal lipids, super low A1C. Hold habits die hard. This is not what they taught her in her 3 hr block of nutrition in medical school 15 year ago! LOL

Since starting a 20/4 regiment two weeks ago, I found that I almost always feel full. I've always had poor digestion and slow metabolism, so it's not surprising that I feel full for hours after a meal, but I also feel oddly full in the morning. I was always hungry before starting this time-restricted eating. It's great. I finally feel like I am in control, and not driven by cravings.
@Traindom

Similar here doing an 18/6 fasting: my cravings are greatly reduced and it doesn't feel like a struggle to resist. Most of the time, I have the OPPOSITE problem where it's hard to eat even with a 750 kcal deficit in only 6 hours. I do anticipate food in the morning and I watch the clock in anticipation but it's not like combating my regular cravings when I ate constantly throughout the day.

Yes, I'm experiencing the same thing. It's wonderfully surprising. It feels almost like magic. Because I've had PTSD and anxiety, I used to eat up until 1130pm at night, thinking like I needed food to help 'numb' the anxiety so I could fall asleep. Now my last food is around 6pm and it's not a problem at all to go to sleep at 12am.

I started to fast in October after watching his KZbin videos. It is so informative and easy, and no gimmicks. I lost from 132 lbs to 126 lbs as of today, Nov 20. In fact, I have the freedom to pamper my cravings to eat cheesecake and muffins from time to time and I managed to lose 9 lbs by observing fasting within my grasp.

the biggest drawback of fasting is people do not believe you what you are getting. my colleagues and friends insist me the secret when I told them about my transformation from 126kg too 77 kg and glowing skin , athletic performace and healthy lifestyle. they assume that i am lying and accuse me of liposuction 😀

One thing I've changed when describing fasting is I now say "No calories" instead of "no eating". I've been surprised by the number of people who couldn't get their mind around it. They would have coffee with cream and sugar and think they were still fasting because in their thinking they weren't eating anything, just having coffee.

Growing up in the 60’s and 70’s adapting to intermittent fasting the last few years has been a walk in the park for me, dinner was usually the one big meal for the day had a small breakfast (when I had one) and a light lunch, snacks were few and far between!

I fast at least 72 hours per week. Sometimes more. I have lost 70lbs since Nov 1, 2022. Feel so much better. My wife is doing this also. She has lost 30lbs since the above date. My doctor is the one that recommended very adamantly that I do this. I’m very glad I did. I am not going to stop. Also, trying to incorporate the keto diet along with it.

Intermittent fasting (16:8, 18:6), walking 10k steps daily and cutting back alcohol to only on weekends and I feel so much healthier. I also lost 15 lbs (5'4.5", 112 lbs). I'm also happier & far less depressed. Diabetes is also a risk in my family, and I crave way less sweets and sugar this way.

I was diagnosed with pre diabetes and my fasting sugar now is below 100. At first it's very difficult, because my body is adjusting. But I am totally fine now. I will try next year 24 hr fasting.

Using intermittent fasting here. After stopping carbs and sugars almost completely and finding sources of protein and fats to replace those things started to change but I also started intermittent fasting the 8 hour eating window version. At first had bad fatigue but that soon stopped. Tiredness continued and I was bothered about that but then it came to mind that tiredness and extra sleep was about my body rejuvinating itself. Sleep state is a state of healing so the growth hormone that is triggered by intermittent fasting goes to work. I listed up to 9 benefits my body has got from changing my diet and intermittent fasting. This is very recent and still going on because I only started doing it since the start of the year and at first did not know any of the information I needed to know. Started exercising for the first time Monday this week and the next day the same thing happened I got really tired and took a long sleep in the afternoon of the next day after getting extra sleep that morning. It is when I realised the extra sleep is a consequence of growth hormone triggering healing rejuvinating in my body. Really happy to say that there are many benefits from this not just a goot source of energy rather than the sugars produced from carbs. My blood presure went down from chronic to last weeks test of bp which showed I was not very close to a good healthy level. It was down from extreme 220/134 within 3 months to 152/100.

Hang in there! Took me about 6months of aggressive fasting combined with a ketogenic diet to reverse my T2D and convince my traditional doc to remove my medicine. Now 6 years in remission! As I floated 10 feet above the ground (astonished, thankful, proud) I was dumped on by this former doc’s nurse who told me to my face that T2D reversal was an internet rumor (that’s a little dated; now it’s a “conspiracy theory”). To which I say: Put on another mask and hold my beer! You’ve got this!

I am almost 1 month in as well with IF and low carb, no sugar except for berries. Diagnosed w T2D about the same time. Have 2 autoimmune & arthritis in knees. Determined not to do meds! I feel so much better, more energy, more awake not exhausted all the time. I mix it up M-F with IF between 17- 24, with always having dinner with my husband. When hubby is home I have to cook 3 meals a day so I don't Fast on the weekends but am very careful. I only cook healthy, I don't snack, and I make a spinach dip with chicken for one meal where I have 5 tortilla chips and it satisfies me greatly, to keep going! The difficult part was giving up pasta & breads (I bake bread weekly) not eating it is so hard, so this week I will have 1 slice of rye and smother it with grass butter and avacado! Here is to sustaining the life style changes... I wish you both great success!

It definitely works. i am following a kidney stone diet which I found really hard to stay within the limits of when eating throughout the day. I'm finding it much easier doing 16/8 which I often push out to 17/7 or 18/6 if i'm doing really well. I've also lost about 15kg in the last 4 or 5 months. I plan on intermittent fasting for the rest of my life.

I've been doing the 16/8 for 15 days. I feel better. I eat between 12 noon and 8pm. I eat low carb and fairly low calories. My weight workouts in the morning were rough the first week (energy). However, I feel like it has improved in the last few days. I haven't really made a dent in the scale. I hope to see change soon. I plan to shift to 20/4 today.
