Thanks. Mint is estrogenic. Men should avoid. Beef has every needed nutrient and is 100% vegetarian fed and wonderfully processed by cows stomachs.

I have severe IBS years ago and I found out I was allergic and still am allergic to high fructose corn syrup. I really really believe that IBS is brought about by all the NON FOOD items that we consume as ingredients, colorants, residues of packaging etc that are irritants to our gut. When I started eating really clean and eliminating all or most sugar and ingredients in food that are man-made I began to recover and I am 90% better. Honey, peppermint, and ginger have been crucial in my recovery.

Thanks for the video - took a lot from this. I am going to try and add Ginger to my daily routine - even if its just a lemon and ginger tea - really agree with the fact that IBS and stress are linked - also the gut is linked to depression as well - cheers guys

I have this doctors i was born with it and because of it i suffer from migraine headaches many doctors done so many studies i stop drinking all their medicine i went online on those syntom checkers and this was my diagnosis i told my doctor he said just change your diet but im still trying to get instructed on what foods to eat i get frustrated on what to cook. Thank you both doctors i got an idea and more educated on what i have now to take care of myself God bless you both Praise the Lord for all your help.

Hi Dr. Axe. Thanks for making youtube videos . I have been suffering from IBS since last year. I had a bacterial infection at January 2019. Since then, my stomach has been fragile. I can't eat dairy products, raw foods like salad and fruits, fatty foods etc. I have diareahha 2 times a week, ballonment and leaky gut. I don't know exactly what to eat to replace those foods . I badly want my imune system back like it used to be before. Should I follow this diet? Thanks a lot for your response.

I really enjoy listening to you both. But you always talk about what you shouldn't eat. The bad sugars. No potatoes no sweet potatoes no this no that. I have severe chronic diarrhea daily if not every other day. I am just about to lose it. I can't work, I can't sing in the choir. I am afraid to leave my house. I have to know where all the local bathrooms are if I do go out and I live on Imodium. And I'm also a diabetic trying to do that naturally also. I'm beginning to think that the only thing I can eat is meat. I just wish there was somebody that could just tell me what I'm supposed to do to stop this diarrhea. I'm desperate

Follow a low fodmap diet to a tee that's the only thing that got me so so. All cooked veggies to and start your day with a smoothie with kefir in it.

I went on the rice and fruit diet (well a variation of it) and it helped tremendously, but sadly a year later I'm starting to get some of my symptoms back. I didn't go on the diet for ibs, but it oddly helped out a lot. I think most of my stomach problems comes from the overly processed foods.

I experienced great improvement of my IBS by eliminating wheat from my diet and taking Probiotics. It surprises me to see that for some reason you avoided talking about the number one cause of IBS in the industrial man's diet which are wheat products! Wheat contains large amount of the infamous gluten that is the main cause of IBS, and even worse, it is genetically modified! Instead you talk about grains in general, but brown rice for example does not trigger IBS.

Gluten was never issue. Gluten is present since ages. It's now that ibs is rising It's the GMO whose is the culprit .

What about chamomile/peppermint tea or both herbs grinded put in a vegan capsule. I did an it made me go in 30 mins. Of course-(you have to beware of allergies if you react to ragweed)

There is so much info in this video I'm going to have to watch it a few times, thank you! I was sceptical but I made the pumpkin soup with coconut cream it and it was amazing! Pumpkin (pre-baked with quality salt and pepper) Garlic (pre-baked) Once pumpkin and garlic are baked, spoon into a bowl and mix with coconut cream... wow! Even my hubby who isn't into "health food" loved it. Thank you very much for this, I'm just starting to try and fix myself.

Had a perfect system until the Last colonoscopy and they tell me that I now have a divet in my colon. Fine until I ate a small piece of steak. It put me bending over in pain and bleeding. I was fine for a year and now again after a steak sandwich, I'm doubled in pain again with a low grade fever. Thank you for your video!

I had real bad gas for years. It was so bad, I thought it was normal to have gas. But I have cut out dairy and bread, and I haven’t had gas like how I used to. I also eat one meal a day. I feel comfortable enough to dwell in da presence of people again. Try intermittent fasting. Avoid dairy. Try taking a high probiotic

I’m suffering from a food induced migraine right now I’m sure of it. But I’ve already put essential oils on, took a lavender essential oil and epsom salt bath, took b-complex, vitamin c and e, and now I’m drinking worm lemon and ginger water. I can’t sleep.... I’ve massaged my pancreas and gallbladder.. I’m drinking water. But I am still in pain

I have read many low fodmap lists and the potatoes, oats, maple syrup and some types of cheese are allowed. And honey is NOT allowed. So now you get me confused. Do you know if Monk Fruit (the pure version) is ok for Ibs? I cannot find any info on that.

The low FODMAP diet helps some people, but not others, and part of the reason is because everyone's triggers are different. From a traditional chinese medicinal perspective though, all cheeses can bother your gut. I can't speak to monkfruit specifically, but if you're looking for a bit more explanation on IBS, my channel's dedicated to exactly that :)

I have been trying everything to ease my IBS and avoid getting ulcerative colitis. My mother has it. I'm going to try some of these tips because some of the symptoms Dr.Axe was talking about really resonated with me. It would be great if they had a sample meal plan to exercise the kind of diet/steps they are suggesting...

Worst thing for IBS is soy. Watch for that because it's in a lot of brands of mayonnaise and most brands of salad dressing. Also bad is peppery spices. Best thing is just the right amount of fiber (not psyllium seed, which is horrible) and papaya derived digestive enzymes.

Why does ginger..especially tea (organic) always hurt me worse? I will get stomach pains and heartburn with the smallest amount.

Hey Brandi - great question! Ginger can be really good for helping some people calm their guts, but everyone's IBS is a little different and for other people it can really flare (especially if you also have GERD or heartburn like you do) because it's got a heating property from a traditional chinese medical perspective, which can bother some people who already have that issue inside. You may find mint tea a little more soothing because it has a cooling property- but some people react poorly to both. If you're looking for more support though, my channel's dedicated to helping people with IBS get better!

I am intolerant to many legumes, dry beans, and nuts. I believe eating grains causes my FMS pain to increase, Eating plantain, yuca, etc makes my stomach upset.If I were to avoid all grains and starches, what can I eat to maintain a healthy weight?

I have been having IBS for 30 years. I have tried all the "remedies" described in the video. None worked. But now my IBS has subsided. There is nothing we can do if we have severe IBS except ignoring all medicines, therapies and diet. Eat as usual, don't take medicines and just wait for the IBS to subside. Frankly speaking, we just surrender ourselves to our fate. One day may come when our IBS lessens.

I don't clean the toilet well. After waking up in the morning and going to the toilet, I feel better for 2-3 hours. But after 2-3 hours again I feel uncomfortable but the toilet is not. It takes a long time to leave the stool. After waking up in the afternoon, there is a little bowel movement. After 2-3 hours, I feel uncomfortable again but there is no bowel movement. After a while there is a rumbling sound in the stomach. The mind does not sit on any work. And after eating rice, belching erupts from the stomach. And after a while, saliva comes in the mouth. After a while the foot is. I am getting weaker day by day. And after Jumano I just keep dreaming. After waking up, I don't feel like sleeping properly. I have seen the doctor twice. Once from IGM and later from Gandachhara Hospital. But no work is being done. I have been suffering from this problem for 6-7 months.

I have a learning disability, so none of this makes any sense to me. I can't do what I don't know or understand. I don't know how to find a doctor for my chronic IBS. I've searched and I'm getting everything but finding a doctor!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sick of it (after 17 hours, non-stop and it looks like I haven't even bothered trying. I'm forced to give up. Fine, I'll just have to get worse. Who cares!?

Ginger is great but gives me severe heart palpitations. Once I stop taking ginger my heart palpitations go away.

When I was on my childhoods days, I consume antibiotics frequently because my tonsils are very sensitive which made me sick of tonsilitis and my doctor always prescribes me antibiotics for 7 days. Everytime I had tonsilitis, I will have my antibiotics and I have tonsilitis many times a year throughout my childhood and teenage years. By the time I turn 21. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. I pooped blood, had worst anxieties, depression, brain fog, stress sensitivity and flareups and it ruined my Life. But presently, I am taking actions to Heal.

I always wonder when you say to put the oils in the bath .. doesn't the oil just stay in one place because oil and water don't mix? The same when people add peppermint oil or lemon oil to their water? I don't really want a shot of pure peppermint oil hitting my throat

Lots of great advice here!!! I cured my IBS with baking soda overdose about once a week. I generally do this early in the morning, before eating. It involves gulping down 3 to 5 teaspoons of baking soda in a cup of water. Over the next hour drink 2 or 3 cups of hot coffee. Then switch to cold water. Drink as much as you can. This should induce a bowel movement followed by very watery diarrhea. (Stay close to a toilet.) You may feel nauseous while this is happening but after 2 or 3 hours you will feel fantastic--no more bloating/spasms. At first I would do this about ever other day. But since doing it regularly it seems my gut has healed and I need to do this less often. I used to have chronic sleep problems related to IBS. It involved spasms and RLS (restless leg syndrome). Often these symptoms would last for days or weeks. You might even say I had somewhat of a personality disorder due to the chronic lack of sleep--I lived a life of desperation. I was always on edge. It was a struggle just to feign normalcy. Now everything is easy. It's even easier to eat right because I don't have the cravings I used to have. I should also mention that I have learned to be very aware of food additives, including citric acid. These used to induce severe episodes of bloating and spasms. Since doing the regular baking soda cleanses I am less sensitive. But I still avoid fast food and read a lot of labels in supermarkets. A friend's daughter is in her teens and extremely overweight. She was on antibiotics for 3-4 years straight when she was very young. I believe this is the tie-in of her weight issue. What can you recommend?

I’m female with severe alternating diarrhea and constipation since age 13 when I started my period which to me is at least partly hormonal also water imbalance in the colon - I also have Esophageal spasms ? There’s no rhyme or reason to this idiopathic syndrome which means doctors don’t know the cause - treatments help but there’s no cure - GF diet and Oregano oil help me the most - IBS is a curse and can be debilitating- it’s not psychological !!

I didn't develope lactose intolerant until I did carnivore diet for 4 months. Oh well 😂 I used to consume dairy often and decided I'd have milke last night and I was in paid most of the night.

Always check for pelvic problems or even possible hernia because it might not be IBS or just IBS but one stage of bowel prolapse! No one wants to talk about a structural problem because of our high carb diets which cause damage by way of glycated proteins in the body which weaken our structure. I believe now Healthy Keto, overnight fasting/no snacking, & destressing are absolute necessities!

Wow,that is amazing.All the thing you guys mentioned I use as my healthy option. I have it and I'm always bloated. Oat milk,oatmeal,sweet potato,agave,corn etc ,OMG Thank you so much,I will clear my diet from all that and see how my stomach react. I'm just tired of having cramps,bloating and I'm healthy,clean eater. Well,that's what I thought lol So what about rice? Can I have that as my carbs?

I'm definitely late in finding this video...but I'm confused.. in the video they suggest honey over maple syrup while Monash University with the Low FODMAP diet suggest maple syrup, and in fact suggest to avoid honey...... the honey is the just one of many example, and I understand this wasn't on low FODMAP but how can 2 IBS friendly views be so opposite while having the same goal for the same problematic ?! Very hard to end up with a clear portrait of what's good or not when we have digestive/gut problematics and begin to try to gather info to relieve the daily pain :/

Is there a difference between pure essential oils and food grade essential oils? For example can you actually ingest peppermint pure essential oil or is there a separate food grade peppermint oil I would need to buy? Can you ingest the "food" type essential oils (lemon, grapefruit, orange, peppermint, etc.) whereas you would not ingest certain pure essential oils like lavender?

Thks a lot for your such great lectures. Can u please help my son get better. He is stuck on toilet for around 10 hrs sometimes qhole night roughly every other day and at times without sleep has to smoke on toilet to help him go ends up with prolapse bleeding sore bottom and cannot have a life. He has been suffering with this condition for over 15 yrs. Will be be very yreatful if u can make him better.
