I find meditating and envisioning my adult self finding the child self and offering the child self love and support. I envision my adult self telling my child self that we are okay and that we are safe now, that the adult self has us now and we are safe.

I’ve talked to my inner child and made a serious commitment to listen, pay attention, allow in safe spaces her to act out and work thru emotions with my guidance and protection because she never was able to when a little girl. It is a serious commitment and sometimes so difficult when navigating thru anger and fear combined when my first inclination (what I had been told over and over) is to bury it because I’m supposed to be good and not a difficult child. Ugh. But - it is so rewarding to recognize I am opening up those restrictions and hearing and keeping her safe thru it all. And difficult because I didn’t have the healthy loving role model to teach me how, so with therapy and my own research and what resonates as authentic and good for me is how “we” are finding our way thru it.

This was very enlightening. This is the first time I've heard a practical approach of how to begin "re-mothering my wounded inner child". I will try to do this, though at first, it feels like a lie, like I'm not being genuine. Which probably speaks to the depth of my childhood wounding

This is wonderful! I have written a suicide letter, broken up with bf, gotten divorced, abused, molested to which my parents said suck it up and deal with it and never spoke to me about it again. This helps.❤I’m very proud of myself for coming so far, you have no idea 🙏🏽😇

Auto immune diseases are often caused by people being at war with themselves. I'm doing some older forms of energetic healthcare. I know I couldn't have done it with out it. I'm actually healing. I'm just doing this for a intellectual grasp.

I was triggered yesterday I had a rough morning today, waking up and still being stressed... This helped me a lot validating my feelings and not doing everything to make my partner calm down. His feelings were not my responsibility. I can tell my boundaries and react hurt when I am hurt

Thank you for sharing your well researched content Dr Kim. Today, I am so proud of myself. I advocated for my inner child this afternoon. My Inner Manager was flying the plane today. It felt wonderfully empowering. I mention this because there have been times more times than I care to mention when my inner wounded child had been running the show. We can care for ourselves everyday and become boundaries confident well adjusted adults. When we least expect it, our essential boundaries click on and fortify us. It's wonderful to see it happy. Today my inner Advocate just appeared and got shit done without being nasty or over the top. It was poetry in motion. I feel warm and fuzzy with joy all over my body. Thanks for all your supportive videos over the last two years Dr Kim. They have contributed to my healing from CEN from being traumatized by a birth mother. She had high Borderline and Narcissistic traits. Thank goodness I made it out alive. Be Well, One Love. Thanks again.

It appears the video is more about the child healing the adult, because it mentions more what the adult is going through. Not enough information on what to do with the pain that comes from the childhood trauma and how to work with that.

Thank you Kim! As I listen to this and hear that "I'm no longer my child self, and I can act differently" my child self freezes out of fear. Acting the way I wish feels like retraumatizing myself. How can I approach acting appropriate to what my adult self wishes but simultaneously giving my child self what it needs, and reeducating my survival mechanisms?

In my experience, doing an initial inner child work of comforting him (finding a photo of your younger self, hugging yourself, dedicating a son to your inner child, cheering for him when you feel down) it's enough to kickstart a more secure style within some weeks. Later, when you are already developing a secure/inner parent self, you will br able to start working in your desires and things you want to improve.

Kim, you are a delightful lady. And you have a very good base for analyzing human problems. But the one thing I don’t think you understand, correct me if I am wrong, is that all those aspects of the inner child you referred to they are unconscious. That is the problem. And the only way to work those things out if they’re deep, is psychoanalysis through the use of transference with an understanding and trained person. I hope you get to read this. Ron Lev - Chicago.

What do i do when i always try to change myself and i act from a place of shame? Super hard making close relationships and having connections with people. My therapist said i need behaviour change but I haven’t gotten enough money to go and this stuff is eating me. Its like im trying to protect myself or something or im scared of being seen as flawed, etc. just dont know what to do.

I have that problem. We have to work on accepting and loving ourselves. You're probably super critical and hard on yourself feeling you have to over compensate.
