I often get so mad at myself because I feel like my "where do you see yourself in 5 years" plan is slipping away. But if I stop for a second and take a look at my surroundings I am so blessed and my kid self would love the space and place I am now and they would be so proud of me. It helps to remind yourself that life is not a race! I can get to my plan even if it takes more than 5 years lol.

Part of this journey for me has been wearing whatever I want, even though it’s nothing super out there or wacky. Literally just branching out with bolder colours or different cuts rather than everything being boxy and black lol. I had a lot of shame placed on me regarding clothing while I was younger because puberty hit me like a truck; it has taken me into my early 30’s to untangle some of the messaging that was put into my head.

Dream siary is a cool exercise; its a day dream but written down. Like: "dear diary. Im sotting in the lounge by my pool by my house in the spanish village Sella tonight planning my trip to Alicante in the morning...and so on". Its easier to be precise and ckear in writing. It makes it more real❤❤❤

Joining a journaling group was one of the best things I’ve ever done. ❤ I will say that I think it’s so silly that we grow up and we’re supposed to just basically ‘lose our color’. Like no if I want to wear a rainbow I’m gonna wear a rainbow. People who say you can’t play dress up as an adult literally watch grown people play dress up and pretend on tv every single day. YES WE CAN!

Hi hi. I just wanted to share that I actually made a playlist like the one you're speaking of and I called it "Sunshine & Pop Rocks" because it reminds me of childhood and riding in the backseat on a sunny day. It has Third Eye Blind, Michelle Branch, Sugar Ray, etc etc. (I'm 31 😁) So when you mentioned that concept, I felt it deep in my soul. ☺️💕

Oooh, I really like the playlist and tactile ideas, also been hunting around in my mom's basement for all my beanie babies and Lisa Frank stuff! :) I've been learning about mindfulness self compassion, it's been super helpful for me lately bc of health issues. I like to repeat goodwill wishes for myself, the negative self talk will happen, but it can be questioned/unlearned. Sooo true about over-explaining, I do that all the time, usually when I'm feeling insecure. I'm going to visualize my dreams and take those small steps!:))

it's crazy how a lot of people resort to instantly being negative - i grew out of that mindset a long, long, time ago and have achieved mental peace. it's very important to work on yourself in a proactive manner so you don't lose yourself mentally. when you're not in the right mental state it affects you physically as well and it can be extremely detrimental to your overall health. being positive and loving yourself is paramount to happiness. easier said than done, though. i hope people learn how to have a better and positive mindset ^^ also. love the green decor!!

Your channel has been helping me find my inner child again! I lost my sense of self in my 20s due to the unexpected loss of my mother during my senior year of college. I hit the ground running toward adulthood after her death and didn't look up until about a year ago. Fast forward 18 years and I have a lovely home, wonderful children, and a loving partner. And I didn't have any hobbies or interests. I've been enjoying Stardew, arranging flowers, embroidering, drinking yummy coffees, and reading lots of fiction this year! 🌷💜☕🎮🪡 I am finding authentic happiness again and it is magnificent! 💖

I have heard two different female KZbinrs in their late twenties this last week, independently of each other refer to spending time outdoors as “play” or “going out to play” and it just was so beautiful and pure to hear it framed like that, I love to be outdoors and yeah we don’t do the exact same things that kids do outdoors as adults but my time out in nature is definitely me allowing myself a “recess” (as a third KZbinr in the same demographic has also recently phrased movement/outside time) or playtime, I’m also late twenties and have been having this same awakening (though I was showing up for my inner child in many ways just without realising that’s what it was) so apparently the mid to late twenties are the era of inner children in us all waking up and reminding adult us that they’re there and still need nurturing, things are only as weird as people make them, take back adults going outside to play 😂❤

Love this video so much!❤ So many good ideas and tips. I am in my 40s and started watching old cartoons I used to love, and I recently fell in love with strawberry shortcake all over again. I got some stickers, and the smell took me back to when I was 6 years old. I used to love to color and draw, and I challenged myself to draw all the characters from strawberry shortcake & rainbow brite (my new hobby). Also started wearing clothes from when I was in my 20s (big sweatshirt, jeans, sneakers, and hoop earrings ponytail with scrunchie and bangs), and omg, the youth flooded through me. Gotta find some jelly bracelets!! Next on my list is learning to bake big muffins. In high school, I loved getting those huge big muffins every morning for breakfast (cheese strudel, blueberry, chocolate chip, banana nut). Also, I want to get a viola and see if I can play it like I did in middle school.
