Thank you! I have read so much and watched many videos, but I still was a little bit confused about the difference between these two. I understood that DRL takes IRT into account, but I still couldn't fully conceptualize what the difference looked like in practice. Your example of DRD being like a shaping program and changing criteria has finally made it click for me! I am taking my Big Exam in a few days and this little piece of information has added to my confidence! I watched your videos all throughout grad school and you have been such a great help!

Great effort and amazing explanation, thank you very much Can you explain the difference between Free-Operant and Natural Environment Teaching?
@PsychCore9 күн бұрын
Well the natural environment IS a free operant scenario. Free operant basically means that an organism can do as they choose - and the environment will operate on the responses (some reinforced some punished, some extinguished. Which is what the natural environment is all about. 😊

Wouldn't a DRL schedule correlate more accurately with the Changing Criterion Design? Thank you for this explanation! DRD sounds like a progressive schedule (diminishing, of course).
@kelleykalomiris22313 жыл бұрын
It wouldn't be progressive. Progressive schedules of reinforcement systematically increase response requirements where by diminishing refers to a gradual decrease.

Does a drl always have the irt compo

It’s about a rate of responses. Naturally that would involve time between responses.
