I'm 75 years old and I just had the first blood test of my life. My last physical was an Army physical in 1969. A week later I get a call from the RECEPTIONIST saying my cholesterol and HDL levels are slightly high (click). I had to go back in person to get a PAPER COPY of the results. NO insulin resistance, NO A1c, nothing but bare bones basics. I told the doctor I fast and she said "Why would you do that?". I have never had a prescription in my adult life and only one sick day from work. I still wear the same 29" waist jeans I wore when I graduated High School in 1967. I think I might wait another 55 years for my next physical.

I live in Norway and have been to the hospital many times due to being the mother of a child with a genetic disorder. I figured out that I could keep my diet fairly low carb by eating hard boiled eggs, mayo and cold meats for breakfast. Same for lunch. And for dinner I could just skip the rice or portato, and eat meat/fish, boiled veggies and sauce. Not perfect, but at least it helped me not get the energy dips I would have if I ate grains, bread, desserts..

I know, I had this experience myself. Why are hospitals obsessed with Jello? Anyway, they won't let you sleep, on top of the food problem. They were always waking me up for things. It was so noisy on top of that. I asked my doctor about this. His solution? Ambien. By the way, thank you for being a nurse. Nurses keep things running and the only force that keeps the system from collapsing. Whenever I interact with the medical matrix, I'm always impressed by the competence and kindness of nurses. Yes, yes, yes! You are exactly right! The same was true in OB/PEDS - I fought for natural births in the early '90s and it was ridiculed in the same ways. No one seemed to recognize that birth was a natural process! It is not pathological. What causes a Dr to need to be there for EVERY birth? He doesn't. We all know women who popped a baby out in the car on the way to the hospital - would've been MUCH SAFER to stay home, have the baby, call an ambulance then, go to hospital IF you have to go...This is bordering on demonic now...And sadly, there are still people living who were born to women for whom the male physician said, HOLD HER LEGS TOGETHER TIL I GET THERE! Those children are adults with multiple brain, neuro, and ortho injuries. And the Drs?! Oh, it's a tragic outcome that couldn't be avoided....Only because we don't have judges with a backbone who will stand up to true malpractice and identify frivolous litigation and send it away. I don't know where to begin today to turn this around. But I'm grateful for folks like Dr. Casey Means and her brother Cally Means, RFKJ, Megyn Kelly, Dr. Mark Hyman, and many more who are standing up for the TRUTH today. God bless you all! Not only are we eating poison, we are breathing it too. And I am not talking about industrial pollution, or vehicle exhaust, and lawn chemicals all of which are unhealthy and can't be avoided, but the additive perfume chemicals added to laundry soaps, fabric softeners, personal hygiene products, cleaning chemicals, air fresheners and voc's that emit home furnishings like carpets etc. I wish someone would start educating the public about this. Our homes are the only places where we have control over the air quality.
@BadAssElf8106 ай бұрын
@@tulipohare12 Part of this education needs to be to inform people that their sense of smell is actually anesthetized by things like formaldehyde which is in most dryer sheets. Also one can permanently lose their sense of smell from too much perfume exposure or other chemical assaults in the same way that one can become hearing impaired from excessive exposure to loud noise. We have a whole culture of people who are highly perfumed. I encounter many who are reeking of artificial fragrances who claim they can't even smell it on themselves. Chemical fragrances are asthma triggers and migraine triggers for many people.

Instead I stopped all alcohol, changed my diet radically, fasted, etc. But I believe the powerhouse for me was cannabis. I made suppositories from cannabis oil (Indica strain). Because of the nature of the cancer, I took 3 grams daily for 3 months -- NEVER GOT HIGH. I continue taking a tiny little oral dose at night before bed but will continue with only healthy foods and fasting for the rest of my life. My oncologist told me if I want to remain healthy, stay away from doctors --he didn't even laugh! Thankfully he was a good man trapped in a horrible position. I found the answer over 20 years ago. If nutrients from food are medicine and healing to the body, then adding whole food concentrates to your body, and you'll watch your body begin to heal at the cellular level. We see it every day. Had a friend come to us, was a T2D, on 36 units of insulin, 2 cholesterol meds, 2 BP meds, inhalers, all the things. Adding whole food nutrients to his diet, within 6 months he was able to get off ALL his medications and lost 50 lbs! We can help anyone with any health issue because you both are right, all diseases reside in the cells, and being able to absorb nutrients AND detoxify the cells is KEY and it's where everyone needs to start! We also need to understand that our foods today do not contain the amount of nutrients that they once did, so you need to supplement the diet with whole food concentrates. I'd love to chat with anyone who is wanting to get to the root of their health issues. I have a 30 minute video that gives some amazing information that everyone needs! Message me

Functional medicine doesn't participate with insurance usually - I am curious what the test cost in functional medicine versus what they charge patients for these clarities. I imagine there are a handful who really are trying to make a difference in human life but also still need to provide for their families. Also the demand from each patient must be incredibly strenuous after so long. I know it doesn't help but luckily youtube has been a pretty good source for them to get information out to people best they can, for "free". I can't afford functional medicine either and I desperately need it.

Due to my age I have seen a decline in doctors and have been talking about it for years, many others do as well. When your doctor comes in the room with a rolling laptop table, looking at the laptop the entire visit the connection is gone. The last time I saw a medical doctor was in 1999. He never made eye contact even one time. He ignored my physical complaint and instead recommended another procedure, which turned out to be an utter failure and entirely unnecessary. It turned out that he and his MD wife worked together in an assembly line procedure "that I must have" or I could die. What a scam!

This is the second time I’ve heard the whole truth, thank goodness. In the early ‘90s, when I was in my 40s, I heard it on Barbara Walters’ 20/20 show. An incredible doctor came forward to reveal the truth by disguising his voice and blurring his face for his safety. He was talking about what was happening in his medical field. He used a hidden camera to attend one of those ballroom dinner parties hosted by pharmaceutical companies in NYC for doctors who prescribed their drugs to patients, regardless of the patients’ conditions. The more they prescribed, the higher their bribes were. The gifts varied-he said they could be cash, expensive suits, or family resort vacations. I was shocked and left in disbelief to this day. Now in my 60s, I still struggle to trust doctors. I always get second or third opinions, or sometimes I visit naturopathic doctors, whom I prefer anyway. I have high cholesterol, and my A1C is 6.8. I have prescriptions for both, but I haven’t been able to take them consistently. However, I’m trying to eat sensibly, stay active, and manage my weight as best as I can.
